URGENT! Duck was attacked, now lethargic!

Please heed Amiga's advice about keeping your ducks somewhere else, till you discover how the predator got in & correct it.

Also the advice about liquids - be especially cautious administering an oily substance, if it accidentally ends up in the lungs, will set up aspiration pneumonia.

Keep an eye on the wound and also the way he holds his neck. If it doesn't start improving, please do avail yourself of a vet's services.

Hello all! Strut seems to be walking happier this morning. I had some more diluted oregano oil for him and he resisted more than he did yesterday as well as when I put more balm on his neck. Jem actually started nipping me as I treated Strut. I guess they're going to be okay. -^.^-

That's great! I'm glad Strut is doing better. :o)

Hello all! I just went out to take care of the Ducks and I decided to snap some pictures of them being their usual selves.

Note: I took a cup of peas out tof give my ducks and my dog stole the container, peas and all.

Hello, Sorry for the long wait for an update.
I'm glad to say Strut is fine, although his neck is still oddly crooked. I believe he has a VERY mild case of wry neck.

I'm not sure how or if to treat this but if it doesn't get better on its own, I'll look for a vet in my area who can hopefully treat ducks.

I'm pleased to say Strut is better. His personality is back to normal, as is his appetite. And aside from some odd looking patches on his neck where his feathers are coming back in, he's looking great.

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice and words of encouragement.

Thanks for the update! I am glad he is doing much better. He has a good momma. :-)

Keep up all the lovin' on him! :-)
