so glad she is doing ok, and I agree do what the vet said, they know best :)
 
Glad she is doing well. Same thing just happened to my light Brahma. My husband let the dogs out when I had the chickens free ranging. I came homw for luch and decided to get eggs from the coop and found her in a nesting box poor thin. They got her good. They took a pretty good size piece of skin off along with lots of feathers. Lots of small open wounds. I moved her to a coop that has noone but A broody hen sitting on eggs so she will not get picked on plenty of fresh food and water and the coop was just cleaned so it's spotless.
 
Oh I am sorry! How very lucky you came home when you did.
I can recommend the vet and antibiotics! Onslow was very good when she was being cleaned as well...she is back to her bossy self now. When everyone said that chickens were tough, I didn't realise quite how tough...
