URGENT HELP WITH DUCK EGG

It doesn't look like it even internally pipped. I don't see any veins....looks like a goner. The above mentioned assisted hatch I thread is well worth a read. That way you're ready either way.

Can I jump on and ask you a question please?

I have 5 eggs, all 5 air sacs are now slanted one is dipped and can see shadowing,
I’m only day 23, do I stop turning that one egg now and continue to candle until they hav all dipped?
Do I go into lockdown early?
Is it too early for the first one to be shadowing? They are kharki Campbell’s, should I increase humidity about now?
How long after this is internal external and hatch pls? Jus so I know everything 😂😂

I hatched my first ducklings in April after a couple years hatching chicks. They were Khaki Campbell, Mallard mixes. I had shadowing starting on a Tuesday pm (day 22). Internal pips on Thursday pm/Friday (day 24/25), external pips Friday pm- Saturday (day 25-26), all hatched within a 12 hour window on Sunday (day 27, one day early). It was about 36 hour from pip-zip. I had a 100% hatch rate. All fertile eggs hatched. They're currently wreaking havock in my garden as I write this.

Ducklings really take their time. I would stop turning and bump humidity to mid-high 60's now. That way you'll be ready when they finally pip. I continued to careful candle or listen for noises until they pipped. Then I positioned them so I could see the pip well in the incubator window and left them alone.

I hope this helps.

ETA: In case the OP or anyone else is interested I used the Metzer farms waterfowl hatching guide almost exclusively.

Yes it does Thankyou, we it be ok to stop turning the ones that only have slants but no dips yet? However I expect tomo they would have all dipped! I jus have one early bird by the looks of it! It’s really rocking about but I’ve not listened for a noise yet, do u think I would hear one yet? X

Also one more thing lol I have an incubater that is plastic but around the outside of it it has polystyrene which I would like to take off to see hatching u think that be ok now? And do I remove rollers and put onto Hatcher now pls? 🙈 sorry 20 questions

The peeping means they've internally pipped and their lungs getting used to breathing oxygen. It's fun to know they're progressing but otherwise not terribly important. You can usually hear peeps from outside the incubator too.

Yes, I would handle them as minimally as possible at this point. AKA "lockdown". That said I'm very hands on with my eggs throughout the hatch but I can't recommend that because I don't know how cautiously you handle eggs.

Yes, get them ready for hatching. Pull the turner for cleanliness reasons, put down shelf liner the waffle kind) if you're using that, increase airflow (pull plugs) and bump humidity (not crazy high). Then you're ready.

As for removing that thing you mentioned I not sure. Does the temperature stay steady without it? Maybe you can post a picture. I'm having a hard time visualizing what you're talking about exactly.

This is not a new photo it’s a while ago, I think actually my candler light being at the bottom is wrong, so I realised, suppose to have them air sac up and candle from the top at all times is this correct?
