URGENT HOMER PIGEONS GOOD UPDATE

I took 1 6 month old and a female that has eggs but her mate was sitting on them at the time. I took them 10 blocks away and released them. 1/2 hour ago. Why are they not home?????? I am very concerned. I read somewhere if you take them while they have a nest they will come back faster. There is no reason why they shouldnt be back by now. Any input would be helpful. thanx

How long have you had them? If they were ever flown someplace else that is where they are now.

Well I just lost my blue bar female then. But she has been out of her pen flying around my yard and she has eggs. I will go check to see if the 6 month old made it back. I cant say what I wanr to but DARN IT.

Darn it Im so stupid!!!! She was my best bird. How long would it take to fly 150 miles? I cant get her back and I feel bad for the lady when the bird comes in.

Sorry. But they are called homers for that reason. The younger one may have went with the older one. I have had homers from another place that I have had penned for years and they still went back when they were accidentally released.

Thank You for answering. I suppose she is at least half way to ****by now. She was booking when I released her, but I thought she was coming HERE. I guess I will have to find some new ones. Well the other one I released was 1/2 swift so no biggy there. Now I have 3 left and a male sitting on 1 1/2 week old eggs. Can I put them in the incubator and what temperature do you think? The ones I have left are all pure breds at least.

I guess that is why the term "prisoners" is used. I have seen on some sites where they call them angels so maybe it will end up being a spiritual message. I hope.

MY Blue Bar just got back!!!

I set her out 1/2 bag of cracked peas from the grocery store and cold fresh water, She hasnt gone inside yet

I am thinking that she may have not flown for the other guy. Maybe thats it. I will probably get UPDATE to BYC Addict on this one pigeon thread!!!
