URGENT! how to get rid of these chickens?

Thanks to everyone who helped me! now I know where to get cracked corn!!! I'm really excited because I got free chickens and I'm glad that they're with me because now I know where to get food for them and I'm going to take good care of them and fatten them up!

I thought cracked corn was going to be like $20, but it's only $7 for a 50lb bag!

I hope you understand that if you're going to keep them long term, they shouldn't live on a diet of just cracked corn. They need a much more balanced feed. Depending on where you live, chicken feed will probably cost you 10-15 dollars for a 50 pound bag

No, I don't t know your situation, but I know the only one the dumping would be easier on would be you....not the birds.

A diet of only cracked corn is not good for them....they need some regular chicken feed.

Put a few home made advertisement at your local feed stores. Your local market bulletins always have someone willing to take unwanted farm animals. Chickens can eat almost anything in an emergency situation-cereal, oatmeal, chips, mixed veggies and so forth. Too bad you can't bring them to me....

You have been registered since January 2009 and you dont know that chickens cant survive on cracked corn alone? What gives? You wont tell anyone where you are located. Why not if you really want to find them a home. Just go to the section of feeding your chickens. I dont mean to sound righteous but come on.

Get some lay mix down at Walmart, it doesn't cost that much. How long did you give Craigslist? Give it a chance. And please keep them fed and watered until you can find a home.

Also how about dropping your internet service if you are unemployed. Then I think you could handle a little chicken feed!

I was thinking the same thing. It seems odd that someone registered for a year would seem to have very little knowledge about chickens. Also, can't seem to get an answer about where she is located. Pretty sure another BYC'er would help out someone desperate enough to turn bantam chickens out to fend on their own. Something doesn't seem right here.
