Urgent! I have Ameraucana's black, with eyes and crest with different coloring from each other

Oh, I thought that true ameracaunas were spelled differently or something, that's just what I had always heard. :idunno

Ameraucanas are a pure bred that are APA accepted. Americaunas "note the spelling" are the same as Easter Eggers. Hatcherys deliberately misspell the name to confuse people. People think they are buying Ameraucanas form the hatchery when in fact they are getting Easter Eggers. Some hatcherys sell true Ameraucanas and some sell Easter Eggers and actually call them Easter Eggers. Most sell Americaunas or what they label Ameraucanas but in actuality they are Easter Eggers.

Something wrong with the genetics of these Ameraucana?

The combs are a little big and misshapen. I'm not saying they need culled, should not be used for breeding, or even "bad". Just small faults if you were showing per say and something to work on if you are breeding to standard. Some have the wrong eye color. I think the darker ones are the correct color but I'll check the APA standard tonight.

Ok, thanks so much for explaining that! I just had the misspelled name mixed up. Sorry for any confusion, @Wanderson Feitosa

All of mine have the same eye color. I don’t show birds but mine are off the Paul smith line so I’d assume they’re correct.

I found this might be helpful:

Eye Color All Varieties of Ameraucanas call for Reddish bay Eyes

Some Defects regarding eye color are...

Pearl eyes= Dark brownish black eyes. This is not the perfered eye color. try to keep it out of you flock.

Green eyes= Some birds come out with green eyes. this is not good either

Tawny eyes= Light brown eyes, not perfered

A good eye has even reddish orange color

With these characteristics that I would post by photos, I wanted your help so that you can clearly instruct me why these different eye color and skin color. Thank you for your attention.

Well, even within a breed there will always be slight differences. My chickens never look identical even though they are purebred and the same breed.
