Urgent question--damp chicks, cool night...

Hi!

Sooo... another quick question. I heated up a rice bag for myself, and put it behind my back--ah, my aching back! lol. But now I'm worried 'cause... after a while it gets TOO hot and maybe could burn ... are the chicks smart enough to move away from it and not let their little feet and legs get burned if it gets too hot? I did leave them enough space in their closed-in area, if they need to move away. What do you think?

I think they will move, they move out from under lights that are too hot. I think you need to relax.................did you have a hard day?

In a pinch you could always use those little hand warmers they sell every where. I buy them and stick in my winter coats. They get warm when exposed to air and last for five to six hours. I may keep some extra on hand in case we get a really cold night.
