URGENT~ SOFT SHELLED EGGS AND A LETHARGIC DUCK!!!

Okay, I'm back. She weighs 1807 grams. 8 grams less than yesterday. It's better than the 30 or so she lost the last time I weighed her. But it is still early I'm the day though and both of the last times I weighed her were later, so I will just have to wait.

Sorry, I posted that last one before I saw this.
I will ask about Clavamox. She got 8 shots of Baytril over 5 days (she just didn't get the shots on Monday morning or Friday night, so 8)

Also ask about something to stimulate her appetite, like B12 or there was a pill that my cat get gave me and he said to give 1/2 a pill every other day, but I can't remember what it was called and I can't find the bottle.

Sending the info to the vet shes e-mailing is not going to help because legally she can't diagnose or treat her if shes not a client. The only way she can give her input is if a colleague asks for it. If you call a doctor and tell them you went to walmart and had your blood pressure checked by the machine and its 140/70 lets say they are not going to prescribe you meds unless they gathered the info themselves or from a colleague like hospital results that were sent to them. I keep referring to human doctors so you will understand that the same applies to veterinarians.

Lol, I'm easily confused and I tend to skim read. For some reason I thought that the vet that had given the Baytril was the one emailing. I'm actually quite surprised that a vet that hasn't seen this duck is will to send so many emails, most would not and you're right, they legally cannot give advice unless they have seen that bird. Some people have well established relationships with their vets and in those cases some vets will give advice for an animal that they haven't seen, but that's more the exception than the norm.

So who is the vet that gave the fluids and Baytril?

Well from following I'll give you the short hand version. If I'm wrong please correct me anybody.
Quacker stopped laying and she noticed a soft egg shell that was ruptured. Also a change in behavior lethargic ect...
Tried to find a vet referred to one specialist a distance away wasn't able to be seen and referred to Dr.W 3-4 hr away
Dr. W suggested the local vet start baytril until she could come in and see her. Took her to Dr.W diagnosed with eyp
continue baytril and gave a powder supplement. She continued the injections with the local vet. Quacker seemed to perk up after antibiotics were done she still wasn't eating, lethargic and losing weight. Dr. W had a personal emergency and is not available. She contacted another avian vet per e-mail that gave some general advice but couldn't help her more but is willing to consult with the local vet if asked. Plus all the byc helpers in between.
