Call the vet near you and ask if they have any catheters that you could tube feed with. I tube fed a swan I fostered when I was a tech at the humane society. They should be able to measure it (tape mark it so you know how far) and show you how. you should be able to feel the placement in her neck. I'm wondering if the antibiotic regiment was long enough.

Thank goodness someone who knows what they are doing.

ok call me crazy but I'm on the phone with the clinic. I tried looking up rehabs in your area that might be able to help and ended up with you local vet. Dr. Marble wasn't in so I spoke with other vet(sorry forgot name) She has some soft caths and to call and bring Quakers in. I remember just using a gruel made from feed. 1-662-843-4426

Hi Miss Lydia peeps looks just like Quakers. I'm dealing with his feathers on the wing tips being ripped out and bloody by one of bunk mates so back inside.

I was just talking to haunted55 and she had a bit of advise also Pmed casportpony who haunted says knows how to tube feed so hopefully we'll hear from her also. But in the meantime haunted 55 says to get some poultry vitamins mix amount they say for 1/2 gal of water but your going to be putting it into 1 cup instead[think mega dose] also mix the calcium /vit d that you got from the vet into this mixture and use a 3 mil or larger syringe with out needle of course and have someone help hold the duck while you open her bill put syringe on the right side of her throat as far back as you can and very slowly start putting in this mixture [right side is food side tube on ducks.] She thinks if you can get the vitamins mixture into her for 24 hrs you should see a turn around where she'll begin to eat. I have no idea Pet Duck I am relaying a message to you from 3rd party.

I have done this with my own and know it works!!! The vitamins will be absorbed without the body having to break anything down, conserving what strength your bird has left. If you follow this advice, the bird will be getting a mega dose of vitamins and it should help turn the decline around fairly quickly. I have done this and had the bird start eating again the next day. You'll want to get as much of this mixture into the bird as you can over the next 24hrs..

I agree the vita mix would be good also. actually anything to help sustain her at this point. I think petduck is afraid she might force feed her wrong which is why I suggested someone to be able to show her how its done.

I would feel much better if someone showed me. I just hope everything is alright since Pet Duck hasn't been on in a while.
