Urgent.

Scott I'm sorry she seems worst.

Have you gotten any thing for her to lean on? Or maybe some rolled towels beside her to keep her upright? Did you place her water & feed up so she doesn't have to lean or bend to get them?

Myself I would not attempt using a syringe to draw off fluid, if that is the case

I would have to get someone who was more confident of what they were doing.
Yes I understand that it maybe what she needs I just myself wouldn't be able to do it . and if she has a failing heart she may not recover. I for one would look and see if she has no desire to eat or drink or other wise seems uninterested.
I would not jump to any conclusions.

Hoping the best of out come,

She leans up a wooden post, i have a rasied bowl of food and water just for her.

She still has desire to eat and drink, apart from th swollen tummy she is very very thin, cant feel a crop even :\\ all i can see is sternem bone sticking out , her face is drawn and very thin also.

I am glad she is still wanting to eat and drink.
I would try to get some rolled up clean rags or towels to keep her up right and comfortable. I have seen those that have even made a sling for the chicken to sit comfortable in while recooping from leg or foot problem.

Let's keep hoping she continues to eat and drink to build her strenght up I hope you are giving her some extra protien and/or higher calorie foods to assist this to happen. As I had mentioned earlier that vitamins in her water may help. And even some with electrolites will help her.

You keep your chin up if she is to make it then she will, and you are giving her the care she should of had at the beginning. Your are a very Good Human and a champion to animals

I've been watching this thread and hoping she'd make it. You did what you could for her; I'm glad she's out of her misery - poor thing.

You're a good man.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your bird did end her life knowing a good person and someone who loved her. Blessings to you both and know that we have all learned and shared with you on this saga.

Peace be unto you,
Michelle

Scott...thanks for everything you did for her. She died knowing that someone cared about her and was making her as comfortable as possible. I'm so sorry...I was hoping for the best for both of you. :aww

You are a true animal hero. I hope you know that! You put in so much time, emotion and effort into helping her, and ultimately, you made a very tough, but compassionate decision on her behalf. Was your uncle able to check her after she passed to see if he could tell what was wrong? We all learn so much from one another here. Thank you for allowing us to be there with you through this experience. My sympathy to you....
