Usage Ideas for Rabbit Hutch in Chicken Coop

Someone kindly gave me this rabbit hutch, thinking it was for chickens. It is pretty nice. I have 2 chickens and am getting 2 more soon for my coop. My very archaic coop needs renovating and repair. I imagine I may be able to use this somehow? Any idea how to best use it for my chickens? Alter it somehow to be a nesting box? something else?

Welcome to BYC! It would make a fabulous broody hen nest or even a chick brooder for 4 or 5 chicks.

That hutch would only be good for a brooder or as a quarantine coop or hospital coop. You couldn't keep birds in there longer term. It's just too small.

Thank you for replying to my first post! Any idea how to adapt it for the nest? If I wanted it to stick out so I could get the eggs, it seems backwards.

Honestly, I can't think of a way to gather eggs from the back.
But if you just have 2 to 4 hens they'll all use one nest (and fight over it) and you can open the door to gather them.
