Hello BYC,

Well, this will be the third time that I've restarted my flock. This time, just 3 hens and never more than 6 or 7, or??? My last flock was 16 hens and I fermented there feed

I started fermenting feed again forgetting that even though I reduced the quantity I still have way to much. When I put down the bucket in the run, one of the hens stuck her head in and immediately started to drink the liquid. They had plenty of clean water at all time.

Is there any benefit of providing the hens with the leftover fermentation liquid in addition to water?

I'm so happy to be back! :wee

Chickens can drink the liquid just fine! I always use my extra to start my next batch. All those probiotics are wonderful for your flock!
:yesss:Thank you! I don't know why it never occurred to me before. I have plenty to start my next batch because I made such a large batch. It's just that that hen stuck her into the bucket and clearly she liked it!

I figured you can never have enough probiotics! :)
