Hi we are having issues with a few of our chickens but cant really find an answer. If there is info on here and I overlooked I apologize for the repost. We have been having multiple girls with the same issues. They are having one eye swell shut, gargling breathing as well as labored(extending neck gasping), sneezing, lethrgy and sometimes falling over dead. Sounds strange but they eat, drink, and lay regularly. It seems it will go away from one or two and then another one will get sick. We did an at home necropsy of sorts and all looked well on the inside. It sounds like several different infections but the appetite and laying are still normal. Thanks for reading this and any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. I believe the only way you can be sure which disease it is is to have them tested. You might want to contact your state vet, ag college or county extension agent. Here is ne outline of the more common ones: You can also access the Merck veterinary manual online.

I live in Florida Kissimmee, have a similar problem but can't find a vet. I don't know where to find a state vet and am a little afraid cause I am not allowed to have chickens here

You can contact your local extension office and find out how and where to get birds tested, or you can contact your state agriculture department and find out the info you need.
I recommend culling birds with respiratory diseases, disinfect everything and wait several months before getting new birds. Practice biosecurity.

Thank you all for your input. We have contacted the university here and are waiting a call back. We know they want a couple of the girls to look at. Will post updates as we get them. Thank you again
