using apple cider vinegar?

Gourmet types in Europe push $100 bottles of fancy vinegars as "digestifs." You are supposed to do a little shot after dinner to help with your digestion. Football teams have included it in their health regimens.
I give ACV to my chickens. My aged, fermented beverage of choice is vino!

It is great for skin due and feathers also

It helps keep the smell (you know what smell) down also. I use it on all my animals for over all good health

I use the natural organic kind from health food store

I started using a Tbsp of ACV in a gallon of water several weeks ago. I find the hens drink more and that they clamor around when I refresh the water. It also makes it easier to wipe the bowl clean, and smalls great. Getting 12 eggs daily from 12 girls, they had been good layers but I find the shells are smoother now.

Braggs is what I buy at the health store and it's the "raw" kind with the "Mother" in it. I use it in our horses and dogs water as well as I drink it in my water daily as well.

I am going to start doing this too; its a miracle cleaner and can cure alot of ailments at the same time. My sister takes it every day with a little honey and water. . .loves it. My husband has a lot of disabilities and he swears it gives him energy.

I haven't tried it with honey, but I really don't mind the taste of it in my water just plain. My DD even took a drink out of my cup one day and I thought she'd notice and she didn't. I think I put about 1tsp in each fill and it's a 30oz glass, I go through 2-3 of these during the workday and then about 1 at home.

what i take is a ACV tablet. got it at the pharmacy. much easier to take than drinking, for me anyhow. haven't ever tried it with honey though. but hey, the chickens love it!!!!!!

Are you not supposed to use galvanized waterers? I haven't yet bc I just have my little plastic chick one but I bought a large metal one to put out in the coop. Is that bad for the hens?

The acid in ACV will leach the metals into the water and can cause some heavy metal toxicity. You may have birds die, have neurological symptoms, etc. if you put the ACV in a galvanized waterer. It will also eat the metal right away and your waterer will start to rust.
