I have to go out of town and have an injured hen from a dog attack. WE have kept her isolated and are putting neosporin on her back. She has one spot about the size of a nickle that has the skin ripped off. My question is, do I wipe off all of the ointment before putting on the blukote or just spray it on top? When do I need to reapply the blukote? And to further repeat the question, blukote doesn't really keep the others from pecking her right?
THANK YOU !!!!!!

We also use Blukote but we put it directly on cuts. It is an antiseptic. I also does prevent the others from pecking. That is why the color is blue! Apparently hens like to peck at the red (blood). Hope she gets better.
