using extremely high temps to hatch only females

Can I get one o those hens that only generates pullets?! 😂
Interestingly enough- my small batch of Olive Eggers (8 eggs) hatched under one of my marans- used 8 of my darkest eggs- 7 were marans eggs (I can tell by shape) and 1 was from a welsummer hen. Rooster was crested cream leg bar. Now, I don't know who is who-- BUT I have 2 females, 6 males... and one of the females is a blonde/brown chipmunk type bird. (Welsummer?) the rest are all black. It was suggested to me earlier this month that the blonde one was NOT the result of my Crested Cremates Legbar- that it was illegitimate, if you will, but last week a small crest started growing on her head. (he is my only crested bird). SO- that means my marans hen with the darkest speckled eggs (the ones I chose to hatch) made 6 males, 1 female.
Good for me to know!!!~!

When I get more females, I'm a selling her! LOL

🤣🤣 hokus pokus.
screwing around with the temps will just give you less chicks and most likely more chicks born with defects.
I agree. The temperature only works with reptiles. As previously mentioned, the sex chromosomes carry the genetic material that determines the sex of an offspring. In humans, the sex chromosomes are referred to as X and Y. A human having the sex chromosomes XX is female, and a human having the sex chromosomes XY is male, so the male determines the sex of the baby. In chickens, the sex chromosomes are referred to as Z and W. A chicken having the sex chromosomes ZW is female, and a chicken having the sex chromosomes ZZ is male, so the female determines the sex of the chicks. I have had a lot of different ratios of male/female. Generally it's around 50/50. My best was out of 12 eggs I got 3 males and 9 females. I have had hatches where I have had more males than females. You might as well play the lottery. I do grow out all of my chicks and sell the males when they're old enough usually around 6 months old. I have a lot of birds so it helps with the feed costs. I keep my best for breeding. Good luck...

They had me until they said that it worked on crocodiles so why not birds. That's almost like saying it can work on mammals since it worked on reptiles in my opinion
Your right. From what I could tell it’s only talking about results from ONE experiment. Several experiments need to take place and be successful for me to believe it

It’s hard to read since there’s an ad between every two sentences

It’s possible it is true. The internet is not always accurate, and there isn’t enough proof written into the article.
I didn't have the ad problem. Must be because of the devices we use.

I'm still researching this type of thing too, by chilling the eggs. So far I have actually been getting more females, & less males.
