Using Lavs in making buffs.

I'm going tomorrow to pick up some silkies. They are buffs from what I'm told but I was also not shown any photos. I will be getting 10 all together and the couple that is giving them to me told me that they were produced using lavenders. Now here is the question I'm puzzled about. If a buff bird is made, using a lavender, it has the lavender gene in it.. is it possible to use these birds to try to get lavenders? Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question. I'm not all that great when it comes to figuring out color genes.


I will take photos of all the birds when I get home tomorrow and post them here.

Buff plus lavender is isabel porcelain. Lavender dilutes the buff. However, you need two copies of lav for this.

Buff over lavender isn't porcelain, its simply buff over lavender.

ETA: Lavender was added to the buffs to 'cheat' the color out of the tails/wings.

Lavender would have a dramatic effect on the buff color diluting it to isabel.

Lavender plus red would make a pink chicken, maybe pinkish buff.
