Using shredded paper for coop?

Hello, as I was shredding some old bills, I thought that the paper might be put to good use as litter in the coop. Any thoughts on using it? Thanks

Any dry organic material can be used as bedding/litter in the coop and run.

Paper can sometimes be a problem by blowing away too easily or, if too much is used at once, by packing and matting. But when well-mixed with other bedding it's a great addition.

I've used shredded paper for chicks and it worked fine. However, the print may stain light colored birds. And you have to keep in mind some chickens may eat the paper.
