USPS Messed Up

Babies arrived this morning at 6 a.m. Post office called me, woke me up and said I had a box of really loud little peepers. Sadly lost one of my Barnevelders. Really sad for this. But, maybe next year. However, MPC replaced the shortage of Easter Eggers with a Green Queen - odd little non-matching baby. She's going to be special.

I'm so sorry! But I'm also so glad for you and for them that the long travel is over! I hope you post pics. For the record my Barnevelders are truly gorgeous but they're so shy personality wise, I can't seem to make them love me, lol. The EE, GQ will have fun personalities, I'm sure! :love Good Luck!!

Awe so cute! They're going to do great. I have exact same set up. Leaving to get mine in 1 hour.
I have them inside a metal dog fence with room to spare and then a cardboard brooder. Helps the curious dogs keep their distance and I can enlarge their space as needed. Oh, and my daughter gave me a topper for the dog pen area to prevent escapees later on. I think it is going to work out really well.

I have found that if you let the dogs sniff them here and there it helps.... Depending on the dog of course. "Be nice to chickens," sessions.... My son's Golden took alot longer than my Leonbergers but eventually they can all free range together....

We have a Chinese Crested that chases down birds for sport. She will not be introduced to them. The bulldog is probably alright as he will chase off the cats and our neighbors dog. The papillon will need to be watched as he joins in with the CC in the chase, and has caught one that she missed. We shall see what training does for them.

I think I have another one that isn't going to make it. At first it was 2, but after a dosing of honey water and electrolytes one of them perked right up. The other is just lethargic.
