Sundance, how about frizzled olive egger EE's?
HEY! Wait a minute, if Legbars were the first ones, I think I know what these are. Legbars were not the ones we talked about at my house. Sooooo.....is it the "other" eggs you talked about>? Do you remember>? I do not want to guess out loud if that is it, I want it to be a surprise

I love the folks on here! I took your advice about KSL and I think I have placed my roo! Someone's white silkie hen is lonely and wants a playmate in Herriman. So, here is the last picture of him before we have to take him to her. He will be so happy and will never know how close he was to freezer camp!

Yay! So happy you found a home for your roo. :) I had someone call me about my frizzled Polish roo today, he REALLY wants him, but is 3 hours away in Provo. We'll see just how BAD he wants him. ;)
wgidir: Hooray for KSL!!
Sphinx: Hooray for lots of new eggs coming anyday! Really, anyday, what is up with that ole blrw?
Sasha: Hooray for someone else resisting the urge to get the bator out of that LOCKED closet! hooray! (we will try not to penalize ya for that cahoots with Jill thing you two have going on...)
Blujems: Hooray for peeing on coops!
Birdman: Hooray for Beer!
Jedage: Hooray for new byc members! ( you will be hooked within the hour)
If anyone read this who was not familiar with our little family, they would have me commited. On the spot.

Lisa, I just love you to pieces! If they had you committed, they'd probably come looking for me, next. I know I may seem sweet and innocent over the internet, but...

Oh I almost forgot! One last hooray---to me for grandbabies! Two daughters due at Christmas, found out today both are girls! Hooray!
A pic of the one born in May, had to share, she is a doll!

Sweet little family

What a beautiful family.

Congrats on the upcoming grand daughters!!!
at all the funny new smileys'..this is fun.

Let's see, very happy for all the new laying hens.

And wg sold the rooster!

And Lisa has a very pretty family, and she is going to catch up to me before she knows it with grandchildren!

What do I feed my chickens is a question I expected once I posted that blue egg! I feed them Leland Mills laying mash. And of course, they are getting a lot of fruit.

Oh, and I love all of you this much...

Lisa, I also downloaded that one that ends up in smoke..too funny.

Where did you guys get all these things from? I think I must have missed a link in another post. I was gone just 3 hours and I have 30 posts to catch up on!

Awwww Sundance i was going to guess those then I remembered you hatched some a bit ago so I thought naw......you got some more yay! The mystery is over.

Sasha I love you to pieces too lol. My son went to scout camp and I am super bored so Cynthia and I started having a little fun with smilies. So glad to see all the fun animations! Love the straightjacket, I saved that one! Our bbq is not happening like we wanted it to now is it>!>?>! So much family reunions we have not even gone camping, only a trip to the lake this spring. Makes me crazy, we usually go nearly every weekend. AND we have not been to our cabin this summer and it needs some attention, going to have to squeeze that in after school starts. Hopefully I can at least come for a visit soon. And maybe the bbq date will work out eventually! ack!

My younger Polish are too young still to put in with the big girls. So they spend the day outside on the grass, but underneath the top of a rabbit cage, which gets moved around for fresh grass. I stepped outside this evening and look out at the yard and saw this...

Stinking neighbor's cat was laying there, watching my Polish, twitching his tail. Rotten cat! Yes, I took a picture first, but then I picked up the closest rock and threw it at him.

(In case you're wondering, that is a random piece of cement he's laying on. My great grandpa used to have yard art sitting on it.)

I know, this whole year seems to be so crazy-busy for everyone I know. (And everyone I don't!) I seriously don't have any friends here in Utah yet, aside from my chicken friends. This old farm and all its belongings we inherited is pretty much my whole life at this point. It's very consuming. I do like to be busy, it keeps me from becoming depressed, BUT, whenever you guys can do a BBQ, I'll welcome the down time.

Our current big project is cleaning out the big area of the barn. It is about 4' deep of hay that has been in there for, I'm guessing about 50 years or so. It was before they bailed hay, as this is all loose. This was day three of non-stop work. My body is so sore! We find little "treasures" buried in the hay. This was something we found today.

The red letters you can hardly read say "Hen Size". It would probably be a 50 lbs sack when full of granite grit, I'd think. That's a lot of grit! But, with the 1,200 chickens +/- that great grandpa had, he'd need a lot.
