Ok when i check the nest box this morning a new girl was in the box.

Red Riding Hood laid her first egg. Yay

Ive got 2 layers now. Henny didn't lay hers today so we still only got one egg. The kids cant wait to collect more than 1 egg at a time.

What do I feed my chickens is a question I expected once I posted that blue egg! I feed them Leland Mills laying mash. And of course, they are getting a lot of fruit.

How much is the Leland Mills food? And is it organic? I searched for Leland Mills and it showed up earlier in this thread as a place where people got organic feed. I've wanted to get organic for my chickens, but it's almost $10 more for 10 pounds less a bag. If I bought a lot at a time it might be worth driving to Spanish Fork if it's a good price.

so you all may find this funny, years ago we lived in the neighborhood just east of where copper hills high school now is, well one day in i think 1994 or so there was a older lady that went to open the blinds in her basement one early morning, there in her window well was a mountain lion staring right at her and when it saw her it yelled and she nearly died, well they ended up catching it. then about 2 years ago they found another one in the same neighborhood! only now there are a lot more things built out there, like the high school etc. i swear that neighborhood has a curse or something because it happens in the same part of the neighborhood wish they would of picked the cougar for copper hills high mascot but sadly they did not

That is pretty funny! Not to the poor lady, at the time though! If she had only been standing by her coop at the time, then I bet it would have been skunk proofed!
