Utah!

Brad, got a pumpkin for my girls today, was hoping they would like...man, they loved it! I cut it into 5 pieces so all could get some without too much arguing. :)

Also bought some for decoration..and found the prettiest corn husk with three ears of corn on it...with an orange bow to boot.

And now, for something completely different:

Kaia and Henry. She is saying, "Go away chicken!"

That is darling and I love your coop. I love bright colors hence cluckingham palace being purple and lime green. Lot of people think its wierd even my daughter but I just love it. Most of the chickens do as well. They are fascinated by the automatic door. They stand around and watch it open. Then run outside and back in a few rimes. Some of the teenagers and Einsterin my polish found a way out the run but I think I blocked it. The automatic door also has 2 extra plugs with temperature sensors on it. When it reaches 40 degrees or below it come on and I have the heat lamp plugged in it so it keeps the coop warm. I don't worry so much about the big chickens and quail but the baby chickens and quail need it warmer, I need it warmer as well

Oh, it's too bad I didn't get Sasha's new incubator while I was out. Oh well.

Congrats on the new chicks everyone. I have decided to give in and get a couple from Sundance. Once I can get down there to pick them up, I'll get them. Soooooo excited!!! I also can't wait to see Cluckingham Palace.

Red, sorry about the cough in your birds. I hope you can get it under control soon. We have a ton of wild birds in my chicken pens as well.

Sundance, I'd be hatching those sizzles too. Smart decision. Good luck at your cat show. I wish it was going Friday as well.

Poultry show: I definitely want to go. I'm running the Tough Mudder on Sunday, but I may be able to stop by the show on Saturday morning.

Lisa, when are you going to Frightmares? We have season passes, and I need to take my kids before the season ends.

Hmmm, that treadle feeder sounds intriguing. I'm sick of feeding all the wild birds.

Lilwanis, I love that picture. How cute!

I am so glad you are going to take a couple of my babies. I can't wait to show you Cluckingham palace. I am going to pick your brain on how to clean the floor

If you have vinyl flooring, something that works awesome is a window washer (squeegee with a handle) it is like a big windshield wiper blade, I use it to "sweep" or squeegee the pine shavings and the stuck on poop comes off pretty good. Sometimes i go back and forth on one stubborn spot here and there, put the blade just scrapes it off pretty good :)

Sphinx I am so happy you are caving. I could tell you really wanted too!
Frightmares is tentatively supposed to happen next Saturday for us. It is the only Saturday we can get down there with my DH, he works Saturdays a lot. BUT My DD is on drill team and they have mandatory practices all the stinking time, it ruins my fun. If she practices Saturday---we can't go, I will know Monday. Then I will sneak off to that chicken show with Sasha!

I spent the day moving my garden. Which is not too fun, it is surrounded by two stacks of the biggest cinderblocks on two sides then on the other two sides those rounded castle pavers, big size. It is 25 ft wide X 70 feet long. That is a lot of heavy cement! I got it about 3/4 done. I may not get out of bed in the morning! I now know....I am alive! Every last muscle group is screaming at me.

Red, Hope Elk is doing ok. Prayers going out for her. And crossies.

Sundance, when you put up the picture of Cluckingham all completed, I thought it looked great! Very unique and lively. And now I'm getting an image of chickens standing around the door until it opens. "Wait for it ........ Any moment now ...... Wait ......... OOOOOH!"

Dalooras, nope on the Cal Ranch thing. They filled the position. I'm still a little confused.

So Elk is doing okay, but she's having to rehome a bunch of her chickens. She has an older horse that is going to need indoor shelter over the winter, so unfortunately, the chicken coop needs to be cleared out. If anyone on here wants to contact her and get some of her chickens, I have her number. She's got some that are 1-1 1/2 yrs old, and then some older girls that are 2 or so and still laying fine. You could tell she was sad to have to let them go. I can't imagine having to get rid of my chickens.

Lisa, take a nice, hot bath. That helps my muscles relax some after I've done a lot of work.

Otis (Old English Game Bantam rooster) is so pretty :)

Can anyone refer me to a vet for chickens? My buff Orpington injured her foot and is acting a bit sluggish today. If she is still bad tomorrow, I thinki may need to get her checked out.
