I'm happy everyone likes Fred's hat...I'm thinking about adding tiny chicken hats to my business.

So only 2 eggs hatched and both chicks didn't make it. I have been wondering if i buy some jumbo brown coturnix quail chicks and slip them under her if she will raise them or hurt them. Any thoughts? There is a person in west valley selling them for $1.00 a chick.

Coturnix quail are very small at hatch. It depends on if the chicks will take to a hen like chicken babies do, or run away. They are like little popcorns. LOL

Just had to share this here: I got my first blue/green egg today! Six of my seven girls are now, officially laying! One more EE to go

Nox laid the white one. Not sure which of my EE girls laid the blue one. I was totally not expecting them to lay for another 2-4 weeks! (they are 22 weeks old now).

MadChicken, I'm so sorry that neither of your chicks made it. I'd worry those courtnix would be too little, but I have no idea.

I didn't even realize she (kitty) was there, I was just looking at the hen. LOL
