Madchicken, I'm glad your boys are okay. Sorry that they had such a scrap, though. Sometimes it happens

Sorry about not posting pictures yet. It's has been crazy around here. So you know how I was complaining about my new incubator well it has hatched me out 11 chicks! One has wry neck though so I have been working at trying to help it. Poor thing.
Has anyone dealt with this before? I just gave it this solution of stuff

I sure hope it helps! It is breaking my heart.
I used the Poly-Vi-Sol by Enfamil. I found a very small glass eye dropper and would give it 3 drops a day. All though it never cured her she didn't die. Her head doesn't flip backwards any more but it still bobbles back and forth. She seems to be OK and still does great. She is my only Silkiie that's not broody. Oh ya we named her Twister.

Hattie your babies are so cute! I love them! They look great, sorry about the one, glad it is looking better. Poor baby, I have not seen that before, it is good you are helping her out! 11 (maybe even 12!) is awesome!

Madchicken, congrats on your baby!

Hattie, those babies are so cute! I haven't had to deal with wry neck (yet). I've heard the poly sol vi is good for that. I hope you can cure it.

Gary, I was wondering about Cotton! Yaaay Cotton, now be a good mama for those babies! I hope the other one hatches for you too!

From the sounds of it, sundance says that they are ready to lay again around 4 weeks, but could go broody again real soon when the babies are ready to leave mama. Maybe you can get her with a rooster when she starts laying again? Not sure how that would work. Just a couple of times a day? Then back to babies. Maybe she wouldn't let the roo..not sure?

Waiting for pictures. I hope she's a good mama for you. :)

Is anybody ordering chicks this spring?

I was going to, but the shipping is SOOO expensive, I'll settle for the eggs I have coming in the spring and just hatch them myself and hope for at least a few from each batch.... ducklings are sooo cute!!

congrats on the hatch, Jill... and there you were thinking they were all dead!! They were just waiting to surprise you=)

We are ordering some meaties this year. This will be me and my dad's project. I might order some dual purpose at the same time.
i will be doing meat chickens too, with how fast they grow and my sister having land i would be stupid not to. my dad is a pro and butchering them so he will be the main person to do that and then my sisters family will feed and water them. and i will be getting a legbar next year so whoever was going to have them next year please let me know when you have them because i want a pullet or two if the price is right :) i will also be sticking some turkeys out at my sisters house. and we are going to do a beef cow or two.
