Utah!

Cute pics Cynthia! You guys look so happy. Glad you guys got to meet! And those eggs are awesome, what a fun variety you have there, hehe hope you get some olives to hatch...still loving that little silver chick of yours too, she is so pretty!

Can I use your pic of you and Donna to add to my chicken friends on my page? I want one of you on there...the ones my DH took of us at our last meet up were video, he pushed the wrong button, so I have none still to post of us, I could not get the video to post. ;)

Ok so our favorite game is on! Lisa went to IFA tonight, after seeing the BIG "CHICKS ARE HERE" sign out front! What did Lisa come home with??........

Cynthia-- So much fun to meet you today (okay, so it was yesterday to most people, since it's after midnight!)! The boys pondered over a name and finally came up with "Dandelion." I was a little baffled by that until they pointed out that she is a Swedish Flower hen and Dandelions are flowers. I pointed out that roses, tulips, and daisies are flowers and they looked at me like I was an idiot, then burst out laughing. "Those are GIRLIE names!" Um, okay, and a hen would be a girl, yes?

Lisa- Those Marans eggs are developing nicely! Well, 5 out of the 6 are, the last one doesn't seem to be doing much, though it is a little hard to see in them. The 6th looks pretty clear, but the other five have definite movement in them. They are actually easier than the Welsummer eggs I have to candle--the Welsummers are all speckly, so I can't really get a good feel for them. All the little chicks (well, not so little now!) are doing very well and have graduated to Superworms for their daily Chicken Football Match.

I happen to LIKE dandelion for a name, other than it's kind of long to say. Have you sent your boys to freezer camp? I'm contemplating trading roosters with you- you take my white legbar to freezer camp, and I get a traditionally colored one. What do you think?

Cynthia, loved the pictures. Cute babies.

Lisa: I don't know, I think you either got a couple necked necks, or you had self control and didn't get anything.

Glad the eggs are doing good! I have had good luck with them. Don't toss that last one til you are sure, I thought I had two quitters last time that did hatch, they just fooled me with the shell.....I ran out there to Blujems/slvrphoenix' house and got a few more Monday night, I set them Tuesday Morning :) 9 FBCM and 3 of "sparkles the EE with the Blue wheaten roo daddy". Really want one of the sparkles eggs to hatch me a girl, her boy baby was adorable.

I love the guessing game. I can hardly wait to post my answer :) I will wait til 10 to see if there are any more guesses this morning :p

I can't wait to hear what you got. I am kinda hoping we don't need to go to IFA for awhile. But if we do Mike is usually good for keeping me in line. LOL
My little one is still limping...I tried to take the bigger one out but it screamed for hours so I brought her back. In the mornings it seems to put pressure on the leg but by night it is not using it at all. I am not sure what happened.
I am not convinced that wheaton is a boy yet so you may get it back Lisa.

It sure looks like a girl through the face, then the red on the head makes me think boy, then the blue coming in, not enough to be positive, will be interesting to see what happens :) I hate those "gray area" chickies lol! That other one will sure be pretty, he seems to be a good boy so far. I sure hope we get a sister to him! Love those sparkles' chicks.

So sad about that little chick of yours, I hope she heals up ok. Maybe where she uses it in the a.m. it is just a little sprain and will heal up... it did not look twisted or anything? It is weird how it happened so sudden, I wish we knew how it got hurt. Poor baby, she sure is cute! Crossing fingers it will be ok.

Ok here is the answer----You were all really close, but Sphinx got it. I went to get NN (Cyndi knew!!) that is all I wanted, they did not have any :( They only had the really common breeds. So I had 1 GSL, 1 EE, and 1 BR (Birdman you had it!) and was running around the store with those, kept going back and looking, and looking, just could not make up my mind. I wanted one more EE, they were so cute, and I just kept staring at them. Store personnel getting pretty ticked at me about this point. After 1 hour of kicking myself for getting any chicks at all, I put them back!!! haha! and left with no chicks. The chicken body guard was not too happy with me. I just did not want to add more yet until they get some more uncommon types though. I never thought I could do it, I was feeling pretty proud of myself AND pretty depressed I had no chicks to bring home, I fully intended to bring home some little NN and maybe a polish, but I guess our store is not fun lol! So Sphinx got it, Lisa (for once) displayed chicken resistance, and I came home empty handed. My family was all quite surprised, I think my DH's jaw hit the floor lol.

poo--I am no fun today, no chickie pics.

I asked if they are getting any other kinds, they said Friday more of the same...GSL, BR, BSL, EE, Leghorn, Orps...Wyandottes. Dang!

Someone on here asked about Buckeyes---IFA here in Logan does have Buckeyes on their order form, I asked and they can get them in no problem, so IFA might be the place to check, although feed store quality may not be what you are after.
