Utah!

Corvidae, I got a fart egg last year from a Dominique I had, and it was as dark brown as any of the chocolate eggs I've seen on here. Normally, she would lay very pale brown/pink eggs. I think that it must be similar to how they'll lay a white egg every once in a while - sometimes those painters just get mixed up.

I forgot to say how cool Sasha's little blue egg is! It's beautiful.

And YAY LISA! You left the feed store without any chickies. I'm so proud of you, you're awesome

Donna, good luck with the eggs! Your boy is very perceptive! ;) I wonder what is up with the dark egg? Maybe someone is messing with ya lol Wouldn't that be funny to put a bunch of odd colored eggs in someones henhouse just to blow their mind? Idea....

Red, I WAS awesome, for 'bout a minute lol. Now I am overrun with eggs....maybe if I would have bought a chick i would have stayed off the auction sites last night....:D haha

Sasha--Mottled Houdans, Naked Necks, WCB polish, snowball sold white polish, and 2 GSL and BR (i had to meet the minimum so got some to sell) Erik will get that WCB polish I swear haha! I could not get a girl last year for the life of me. These are all sexed, so crossing fingers it works this season. I got the shots too for good measure. They are supposed to come March 4, then I have hatches due 2/24 (just 4 eggs and they are for blujems), 3/5 FBCM and EE (12 eggs so far), then around 3/11 leghorn /ee and bbs marans, then these wheatens to hatch hopefully around 3/20. Working on a few other fun things to hatch for April. Most of what I am hatching is for other people wanting chicks, but you know I will end up with some

I love Spring! Be sure to let us know what you end up setting....also I have a trip to Idaho coming to pickup pullets from QCU, not sure when they will be ready, but if it works to pick anything up for you I would be glad to.

More baby goats! That will be so fun! Blujems had 7 teeny ones the other night when I went to visit, sooooo cute, I love the way they jump around and play.

I missed your purple posts

Well since you brought that naked neck over the monster has been bugging us about them so if you have one or two extra of them to sell let me know.

Since it looks like we won't have a coop until around May, just wondering if it will be possible to get some pullets around then? (Am I wrong to assume that it would be a little late to get new chicks then?) I just don't think I want to take on raising chicks in my garage for 3 months... By the way, enjoy reading everyone's posts--lot of chicken knowledge here!
Depends on if you want eggs this summer. If so get chicks now and tough out raising them in the garage. Its really not to bad. If you don't care about eggs then you will for sure be able to get chicks. Or you can pay Sunny brook to brood them, for you
Sunnybrook! That's where I got my EE chicks from. She gets shipments from the hatchery and that was perfect for me because I just wanted two chicks. My EE that I bought from IFA (aka "Araucana" :gig), passed away in a terrible brooder accident and everyone was heartbroken. She was a lifesaver for me and really nice lady.
Look what My wonderful Hubby just brought home for me!
Too cute!!! I am having major chick withdrawals here. My eggs are on day three. So far the temp has ranged from 98.3 (when first started) up to 100.7 (also the first night). We have been able to keep the average temp at 99.5 and humidity is between 30 and 40. The incubator I have takes a lot of babysitting, but is working ok. Any suggestions for a good brand to buy? I have shipped eggs coming in a few weeks and I think I need a different bator...

Btw, the eggs I am hatching are my own eggs and are hatcheries stock barnyard mix. If anyone here is interested, I will give them away free. Other wise I will ksl them for...I think $1 a piece (I was thinking .99, but really, what am I going to do with the pennies?)

Last post, this is of course assuming any eggs hatch. There will be EE's mostly and one egg from each of the others. I am curious what a RIR x Andie will make though...

I was having problems with mine doing that. I have put it in a different room where the temp. is more stable and have had better luck. So if the room it is in has big temp. fluctuations then it really effects the incubator.

Anyone selling ducks this year? I doubt my family could complain too much about a chicken in the shower and a duck in the tub.

I could probably get away with that if I call it research material for my children's books.
