I don't want to hurt my little Houdan's feelings but they seem like the dumbest breed on the plant. When the two Wheatens go up to the roost at night my Houdan cries at the bottom of the ramp.I'm not introducing my little ones to the flock for another few months and hopefully they can defend themselves by then.
So funny! The one I lost was like that, just not real bright, I had to show her the food if I moved it, things like that...my other female is pretty smart with finding things and taking care of herself.....and she dodges the big girls a lot better when they come pecking...then my boy is a total mental case...he runs into the coop walls, he was standing on top of the waterer the other day, bawling for help to get down, kind of a big baby. But I really like how I can hold them and reach for them without them being skittish...and they really get along with everybody and I could never picture them fighting or hurting another chicken out there. They are just big dumb babies lol but I love it for some reason
