Thanks! Wow - that poor chicken in the thread has a bad underbite. I've been researching a bit on here. Today I took the PediPaws to it (that's how we trimmed Pioneer's nails) and I got a bit of the excess off. She's also got this weird growth under her bottom beak. I think it's part of her throat or something. She also seems to carry herself different than a normal chick with her head more tucked in. I guess as long as she's happy, healthy, eating, drinking, and the other chicks aren't picking on her, I'll try not to worry, but it is a pretty bad overbite. Sounds like cross beaks are a worse prognosis than over/under bites.
I'll try and post a picture of her. She's just in that super ugly stage right now and the lady put green food coloring on her head to mark that she wasn't "for sale".
She's a red sex-link. I went to Pleasant Grove to pick up a buckeye, cuckoo maran, and salmon faverolle. Ended up with two buckeyes, cuckoo maran, delaware, and the sex-link. So there are ten in the brooder right now.
Just what we need... more chickens.
