Utah!

So I'm thinking I have CRD here at my house. I've been treating all my chickens with denegard I've noticed the sneezing and runny nose has subsided quite a bit but today I noticed 1 of my hens has raspy breathing and is sitting there with her eyes closed and does not seem to want to eat or drink. I'm really not happy with all my chickens getting sick after I bought from sunnybrook farms. Never again will I make that mistake. Does the hens symptoms sound like CRD?

not sure what CRD is? Give me a call

I have a few Cream Legbars around that age that I need to get rid of. Couple of BLRWs as well, though it is harder to tell their gender...
Cool. Can you PM me the details?

True story. Remember my couple that cleaned my coop and paid me $20.00
I like how you refer to them as "your" couple... haha.

I would check with Christy. I think she has posted follow-up info on potential illness or treatments a time or two in newsletter emails she's sent. If you describe the symptoms of your birds & treatments you've tried, she may be able to give some helpful insight.

If they do have CRD, do remember the birds will be carriers for life & may infect future birds you get. I think if birds have a serious, hard-to-treat strain of CRD it might be good to cull them; but generally I wouldn't actually cull for middle-of-the-road CRD myself. Although I'd discuss the condition they have with anyone who I might consider selling an affected bird to, & I'd be careful when adding any new birds to my flock. You might think over your future plans for your flock in making decisions.

They are so cute! I need to get really good photo's of my 4 silkies and post them. I would love to see what people think on their sex, and I would like to know what color everyone thinks they will be, I swear every week they are changing colors. Its crazy.

So, I've been out watching some chicken tv. I lov all the different sounds they make. Particularly my EE Rose. She makes a whistle"y" sound that I just love.

Its looking like a storm blew in down here. Hopefully we'll get some rain.

Been busy busy with apricot jam making - our five trees are a job in themselves when the fruit's ready! In amongst all this, we rescued an abandoned young cat, who ended up being pregnant and had her 5 kittens on Monday (they're cute and adoptable!!), and Poppy, one of our Australorps, has become stubbornly broody! Motherhood seems to be in fashion. Anywho, reading that a good way to unbroody a hen is to give her a chick and let her be mama, and since we'd been thinking of adding a couple more chickens, we decided to give it a shot. Only problem is that neither of our Cal Ranch stores have chicks now. Anyone have any ideas? I'm in southern Utah, but could travel if need be either to deliver a kitten of get a chick

Hi! How far south are you? Hopefully I'll be hatching out a few chicks in a couple of weeks. You could have a couple of them. We have too many chickens lol.

Oh nvm i saw in one of your other posts. La Verkin huh? Not sure how far that is from Ephraim.
