Sara you want a few babies. Hahaha, anyone on here will be at cost for each chick. I wonder if I could sell them off on KSL for $5.00 each per chick, I did get them all vaccinated. I did ask her want would be in the assortment. She said they currently have about 25 different breeds, plus all their different colors that could possibly be in my mystery box of tiny's. She said that they will try to put at least 2 of each breed in the box, maybe more or less, just depends on the packer. At least I will know my Brahmas, and Brian's chicks from all the tiny's. I'm really hoping there is a frizzle.

Now is there anything special that I should get for these tiny's coming from a hatchery? Like vitamins or anything for their water? Will they be okay with the pullet chick starter or should I run down and get a bag of smash? Guess I need to go dig out my 250 watt heater bulb. hahaha, Just a question for you

Silly, a question for you.... aren't Bantams sold straight run?? Just curious?? I couldn't remember.

Yup, they are always sold as straight run. That is the only down fall

But my Brahma's are coming as Pullets! So are Brian's 6. So it actually made it worth it because I got my Brahma's and Brian's 6 chicks cheaper then they would have been if we just ordered them separate.

So Desert, do you think they will be okay with regular chick starter or do you think I need to get the smash? And vitamins? Where do I get them if I need to?

Oh, my Silly. To be a fly on the wall when you tell your husband that you just ordered 32 chickens. My dh is mocking me because I have that number out in my run right now.



Red, I forgot to ask if you are trying to incubate any of your Icelandics. Did you have anyone else incubating? I'd be curious to see how the siblings to the ones I have are doing.

RED, I am mad at your BF. He needs to respect you more. Are you sure he is "the one"? Girl, you are the catch of the century and there are a LOT of fish in the sea. I would love to see you out dating and having fun and meeting Mr Right...not Mr. we-want-you-to-be-right-but-your-ex-makes-you-so-wrong. Really think about this one....starting a life with someone is ALWAYS so difficult, and marrying someone with ex's and grown kids makes it a hundred times more miserable and more work. just my two cents. You know I love you. The mom in me is coming out also. I have a BIG soapbox! My 28 yr old son is always meeting the wrong girls and trying to change them, or save them, etc.....I have given him a lot of momma lectures. What is boils down to is this....you deserve the best happiness. You have to make that happen for yourself. If you don't, no one else will. So just be happy, and make sure that you have considered all your options. You are too young to take options off the table!


So I was very excited, getting my Houdan Trio ready for the fair. NOT! The girls had critters in their poofs,I believe lice eggs. Their poofs had little hard balls in them. I found some of the little orangy brown varmints on their bodies. Not many, and they were dead by the time I was done...but man I was bummed out! So they got the whole spa treatment today, a good soak, and oiling, then a treatment...cleaned coop.run, sprayed down with protector and critter killer to boot. But for now, no Fair for the girls. I had to pick out too many feathers from their poofs to get the matts out. They looked so pretty! I would have never known, until I felt them, and could feel the mats in there. Ugh. So I took the rooster by himself, he was clean....and we bathed and treated him to be safe. And the SG roo, Vinnie, who is TICKED about being in a cage at the madhouse at the moment lol. Then we took Oreo, my WCB Polish. The guy at the booth said she had a good shot in the Continental Class--she was the only Polish and looked perfect. And her feathers are so pretty right now. So just the three....really wanted to take the trio of Houdans though so I am bummed. They have been separate this whole time, just to make sure no bugs and no getting chewed. I was really surprised to find critters, in their poofs of all places! Felt like little hard qtips in there. Now I combed through it all and really think I got them dealt with, but re-checking in a week. They are getting their poofs shaved off if need be. They can grow back...Not messing with the yuk!

So Sphinx, I told my husband, and he just kind of like looked sideways at me, but he totally didn't even care since I quickly added, well 6 of them are Brian's and he also said that he wanted a few of the Bantams, and I only want maybe 4 of the Bantams, and then rest I'm selling off. He just scratched his head, and said... Well do you still need an incubator if you can just order them alive like that.

Of course I still need an incubator.

Sorry everyone for the drama. I got a lovely surprise call on my cell today while at work, and guess who it was? Yep, little Miss Sunshine ex, herself! She started in to one of her little bashing sessions, and I told her I had to get back to work. So, she called back and left me a nice, long voice mail threatening me and other such stuff. I called the police and reported her for stalking, then asked them to call her and tell her to leave me alone. And, I came home and recorded said voice mail on my computer so that I have it for later. Ugh, I feel so sick. What is wrong with some people?!

Moving on.......Sphinx, yes, I have the remaining Icee eggs under my OE. There were four developing a week ago, but I think I have two quitters, as of Monday. I'll jut have to wait and see what hatches, if anything. I can't believe how hard these have been to hatch, for such a hardy breed! Thank you again for your dedication to the ones incubating in your care. I appreciate it so much.

Desert, I don't know how you work that much, on that little sleep, and don't just keel over! I wish I lived closer so that I could come and help you with some things. Looking forward to more pictures - AFTER you get a nap.

Lisa, I'll be honest. I was mad at him, too. But now I feel so emotionally turbulent, I don't know what to feel. I had to leave work early because I felt so sick. It's okay that you got out your soap box. I'll sit in my Corner of Whining.

I don't know if any of you are into the whole pallet building thing. It is a nice and cheap way to build a coop that I have not taken advantage of because it is soooo much work to break down pallets. I ran across this link on Pinterest and thought I would share:

OMG, I can't believe your keeping your cool, I totally would have gone all crazy up on his ex. How dare she even call you out like that. I'm so very sorry that your having to deal with all of this, its not fair to you for them to drag you in their crap pool. I don't know your situation or anything, but it might be good to distance yourself until they get their issues resolved, because its not fair for you to put all your time, energy, and emotions to be brought down like that. I know that it might be hard at first, but maybe it will work itself out with a little time. Or maybe just try to get away for a few days, just to have fun with yourself, and to be away from all the negativity. Not sure if you have this option on your cell phone, but on my cell phone you can actually block numbers, and they won't be able to call, text or even leave voice mails. That might save you the nasty phone calls and text messages from his ex.

My mom and my brother would probably help out, if I did end up taking off for a couple of days, but I appreciate the thought. I do have the ability to block numbers on my phone, and I thought I DID block hers, but it must not have transferred over to my new phone when I got it. I am leaving her number unblocked for the time being, because if she harasses me anymore, I'll use that against her to protect myself. Then I will block both her and her daughter's numbers.

So, has anyone ever filed their own tooth? I got a temporary crown on yesterday, and it keeps hitting high so that it's uncomfortable to close my mouth. Well............I washed off my personal nail file and went to town. It's easier to chew, now
