Utah!

So, yesterday we got 5 eggs from what I thought was 3 laying hens. I bet my oldest babies are laying. they are 21 weeks :) yay. We are getting an extra green egg and an extra brown egg so I dunno who is laying them. I have 2 green egg layers that are "of age" and my Dominique, so I'm pretty sure she is laying the brown egg. Here is the wierd thing though, no little tiny starter eggs. Not that we found though.

ChickPlace, Congratulations!!!!!! You did so well! You know, it's on my bucket list to win one of those puffy ribbons...

Lisa, hearing about the lice and bugs makes me all crazy and itchy too. Ugh. Hope you slept ok. I wouldn't have. LOL

Red, I think we lost one of the Icelandics yesterday. :( But, the other four are rocking in their shells, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see pips later today or tomorrow.

I'm weak. I can't help it. I felt so bad that I took the Icees away from my broody last night that I gave her 5 FBCM eggs to hatch. I hope you guys buy them immediately after hatch.
Sphinx, I still need another one

. If you want I can take the babies and just re-home what I don't keep. I don't mind having babies in the house in the fall, plus I now have it figured out at least in my head on how to build a grow out pen in the coop, so they can have a light and everything.

Chickplace-CONGRATS! You did so awesome, how fun to get all those ribbons!

Sphinx--naughty girl I am here contemplating the existence of those FBCM eggs under your broody. Hmmmmm...arghhhhhhhh!!!!! I already have chicks brooding, might just have to make a trip to ogden in a few weeks! Will see what my resistance is like. Your Icees will hatch on my daughter's 18th birthday! Woot! Hope she forgives me for sitting glued to the computer watching chicks hatch....

Cassandra, so sorry to hear about the boys popping up. Can anything else get in the way of your Brahma project?? Sheesh!

Cynthia, you feeling any better dear? You have been in my thoughts. At least I got a giggle from you last night....NOT FUNNY

Silly, I think the FBCM I've been growing out for you is just about ready to go home. Her mom has been laying eggs for a couple weeks now. I'm thinking maybe I'll send you home with the pair of FBCM so that she has a buddy when she's acclimating, and then you can rehome the cockerel once everyone is settled. Sound good? She is looking to be an absolutely GORGEOUS pullet, maybe even show quality.

Sara, congrats on the new egg layers!! That's very exciting! You and Silly are definitely reserved for any FBCM chicks that hatch. If I have them presold, dh won't tease me at all.

Wendy that sounds great! I don't mind taking the Roo, until he starts crowing and then he will need to go. My neighbor this morning says to me over the fence while I'm cleaning out the baby run... When did you get chickens, I never knew you had any back there till last week when that naughty Silkie started crowing. Which I was so happy they never noticed. I'm down below to my legal limit now, but a few weeks ago I was way over. hehehe. She said that they totally aren't bugging them, and that she would love some eggs when they get laying. So since she doesn't care, and if I give her some eggs every week with they start laying. I'm sure I will be totally fine if I go a few over my limit for a while with all the Bantams coming.

How old are the chicks? I have some that are 3-6 weeks old right now in the grow out pen. I wonder if I can through them in with them. I have 2-six weeks and then 4-3 week olds out there, and they all get along great right now.

Maybe if you find a way to bring them down, do you think you can pick up my Polka Dot NN, I have to have a spotted chicken. I can't believe how awesome they look. I can meet anyone in Salt Lake if needed.

And if anyone wants a Bantam I can send it north with Wendy. I have plenty to share, just wish I knew what was coming. Hopefully they all we be happy and healthy tomorrow morning.

Hey, guys,

I have been following you folks for a while but thought I would say HI and ask some questions. I picked up 14 acres down by Hurricane t build on. It is way the heck and gone from Hurricane. I almost have a BIG yurt finished to put on a deck while I figure out how to build a log cabin.........

Last year quite by chance I saw a ytube on the Chicken Caravan and I was hooked. Then I made the mistake of checking out Greenfire Farms web site. The result is that I am mad for the Ayam Cemani. They are the weird chicken from Indonesia that is black, all black including muscles and bones. I have been searching for them for quite a while now.

Welllllll all of this is complicated by the fact that I currently live in a condo in WVC. They do not allow chickens to breath in this area.

Wendy is still about 45 min. South of me but maybe I could leave one with her when my DH goes to a raptor game? OR my daughter is trying to buy a used Iphone from someone in Clinton, if it works I will be down this weekend.
