There are already a few people on my list so hurry so you get a good spot!

Welcome to BYC! Sounds like you're going to bring a lot of diversity to the group!

It rained today, so I went out and played in it for a bit. It's been a long time since I've done that, and the fun part is, I actually got my DH out there with me!

This the water coming down, from up the street.

There is goes..down the street.

That is so funny, I should have taken photos of our flood. Depressing since it rained so hard, we have never had any problems in the 6 years we have lived here. That my whole chicken area is completely had a change. Needless to say the girls are pretty ****** off about it. But after it flooding twice in 3 days we had to do something. I lost 2 bantam chicks to the flood. All 3 coops were flooded with at least 6 inches of water stuck inside. It was a mess. Our garage flooded, so we had to scoop out mud out of there that was at least 4 inches thick, and our back patio flooded so bad that we had water in the living room. Hopefully next weekend we have a backhoe coming to take out about a foot of dirt on the side yard, the girls will really be ****** off then. But as of right now, we had to build up the back area wether the girls were there or not incase it decides to rain like that again. So all my nice sod that I got and it took so well is under about a foot or more of dirt. All gone

and the girls keep digging in the dirt trying to find it. Its so sad. I'm hoping that it will grow up through all the dirt next spring, I might just have to re-sod the whole area again. All the coops are finally mucked out and clean, but they are built up and have retaining walls around them, which the girls are not liking one bit. We have a huge canal going down our side yard right now, that is at least 2 feet deep, and the girls go in there to get bugs and then get stuck. hahaha this I have to laugh about. But next weekend that canal should be gone as well as about 12 inches of dirt. Side note I do have a nice stone walkway up to the back run. The Girls, avoid it like the plague, its so hilarious.

So I finally have 4 layers

My EE's are finally laying, but every other day. So very depressed about the egg color. Oh well we will be on the hunt for a blue egger next spring. One lays a nice colored green that I totally love, the other one...like a cream or light tan color. So very depressing. Oh well. I've been on the egg hunt out in the yard again, the Silkies should be starting soon, and my 6 1/2 month old bantam Cochin mix should be laying already right? But I can't find them anywhere,

Sad note, I think I need to re-home my Japanese Bantam. I just love her, but she keeps flying up into the tree and jumping over the fence into the neighbors yard. My neighbor right now doesn't care, but if she decides to go the other way there are dogs. And also the neighbors yard isn't fenced in so if a stray dog is back there she is toast. This will be more for her safety, I would hate to be the cause of a tragic accident. She comes back, and she goes over there about the same time every day and is usually only there for about an hour or so, I'm really wondering if she is going over there and laying eggs. She is 4 1/2 months old.

Welcome Jayden!

Silly, I can't believe what a mess the floods made of your yard! That's just awful.

Sundance, I'm so glad Maude turned up.

Wow Karen, so sorry about all of that damage. DH kept going downstairs to watch by the window wells, and, underneath our stairs inside we have a nice storage area..no water that we can see. I think we are lucky that we live at the top of the hill, down at the bottom, there is an area that is fenced off, and kids love to play ball on..well, it was a pond and the kids were using it as such..playing in that dirty water. Eeek. :/

Glad to hear that you are getting eggs! You and Brian..now I just need to have a couple that I thought were ready a while ago..to start!

Earlier this year, in April, I had a rat problem. 6 weeks later the rats were gone. Yesterday I saw 2 more rats. How can I keep these critters AWAY? Accepting all advice, thank you.
