Utah!

Yes Cynthia I got mine. I got an 8" and 10" for a bantam and LF rooster--none of mine are crowing yet so I cannot tell ya how they work, but I am excited to try! I thought the same thing too, they would be easy to make, after looking at hers. Wondering how long they will last, I hope they stay nice.

Just picked 1200 lbs of Turkey hard red winter wheat for free. Thank you KSL. 13-15% protein.

Sweet Gary! That is an awesome score. I just wish I dared to feed my girls stuff other then what comes from the feed store. Plus they get scraps from me. I guess I need to make a list of stuff like that, that is safe to eat.

My grandma sent me this link and I thought it was so cool, I will have to try it.

We are on day 5 of my new eggs in the incubator, and I'm dying to candle them, so I did 2 Silkie eggs today, and they are both growing…. I only did the 2 eggs out of what like 27 or so eggs. I was so excited that I at least know that I have 2 growing in there. This time around I set the temp a degree down after talking to Cynthia, and I'm also moving them all to different spots in the incubator while rotating, someone said to try that out on the incubation thread since I have a still air.

I've seen that before Karen. I need to keep a bottle saved aside for it. :)

Gary, no fair. I say, no fair. :) Really though, happy for you.

Heya! I'm back. I had so much fun fishing, even though it was pretty cold.

Silly, the rotating thing makes sense. I've noticed that my hens shuffle their eggs around to different spots when they check them. I hope it helps! Also, I realized belatedly that one of those olive eggs I gave you may have been washed........so if it doesn't go, it's not your fault. My error, there

Madchicken, nice score! Red wheat is one of the grains I like to mix into the feed I give my flock.

Lisa, I don't care if you look like a pizza. I still love you and am glad you're okay

Cynthia, I'm glad your family is getting checked! That can be seriously scary stuff. I need to go get something checked, too. Yuck.

Birdman, thank you. It was a ton of fun, and I wanted to catch a splake, but I ended up bagging a brown trout, so I can't complain. Total tally for me was three perch, three rainbows, and one brown. The weather and the area were beautiful up there. Don't mind the squint. It was.....rather bright. Haha.

glad you had fun fishing. fishlake is a special place. i never fished the hard top tho. but i could tell you what to use when the ice is off. anything that looks like a perch will get you a trout there. so bright yellow, orange, green etc. i fished mostly flat fish in those colors and fished trolling. that is how i got my laker. sorry i am sure you do not need my tips but just in case i thought i would tell you. i am sure its cold. hope you had sun block on. you know there is some muskies in the lake?

Nope, I did not. Nor did I know there were suckers in there until we talked to another fisherman that claimed there were. One of the people in our party claims she caught a small pike. It was the only fish she caught. And my fiancee caught what we believe is a juvenile smallmouth bass. I think someone else in the group actually did get a splake, so we had quite a variety. And I don't mind the tips

I like to learn. I can tell you that if you're ice fishing there on a Friday, the fish seem to like hot pink anything, haha.

It was cold, but I had a lot of warm clothes on. Plus, I am more comfortable in cold temps than some folks, so I found most of it to be pretty pleasant. I actually rolled around in the snow in front of our little cabin because I was so happy we got dumped on by the weather.

the tiger muskies swam upstream from johnson where they are stocked. it has the potential to ruin fish lake. i am fairly sure that is what the person in your party caught. tiger muskies are a muskie pike hybrid. its extremely unlikely it was a actual pike. yeah there are some suckers in there, not many but some. i caught one once. did you keep the bass? that would be crazy if its a bass. make sure you call the dwr and tell them. any pics of it?

Yeah I thought it was strange to hear of a pike in there. We kept the bass, but I haven't gotten a picture of it yet. The only other thing I can think of is that it was a very weirdly-colored perch, but it was the same size as them and looked strikingly different in coloration. When I was flipping through the proclamation, I found the picture of the SMB and was surprised that it looked almost identical. I thought there were bass in there, anyway? Cynthia, haven't you fished bass at Fish Lake before?
