Eggs went into the incubator this morning! Of the six four had detached air cells and by nighttime yesterday they had all but one reattached. Hooray!!

Cynthia are you incubating your NN eggs too or are you using a broody?

Seriously? Wow. I will let you know. Thank you! The reason I want a heritage breed is so that I can get another hen to hang with my solo girl. We have a Cal Ranch out here, and I think I have to order a minimum of 20 birds or something to custom order. Maybe it was 50? They only ever carry utility and bantam breeds of chicken out here, and then the BB turkeys.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my SBEL is broody once again. My mom has the daughter of this hen, who is less than a year old, and she's broody, too!

Well then! Even my chickens are wishing me Happy Mother's Day. I got my first egg from a gal that I've been watching this past week. Told DH, any day now. It was today!
I love the dark brown ones.


I'm just hanging out here at home, didn't feel well yesterday, and now, it's full blown tummy flu. I've had to tell all of the kids that planned on coming over..if they want to..to come. But, I don't think they want this. Man! I haven't seen one family in months..they live up North.
