Utah!

Frizzles just crack me up! They look like they were dried at too high of a heat and without a static cling sheet :) I'm adding it to my list for next spring. I love NNs too... My roo is like a big dog who follows me everywhere and is about as excited as my lab when I get home from work.

Cute! I used to have a lap turkey. Kind of like a lap dog. She got jealous if the chickens sat in my lap.

Gary, did you get some of those sunflower seeds before the birds did?

Cynthia, I had to taste a seed after your post. Very yummy and tender!

I think all of my girls but one are on strike. I have one little Icelandic who's laying, and everyone else is setting, molting, or being a brat. Boo.

I could tell! He seemed like a quality guy! I mentioned to him that these hens were the youngest of the flock, so they aree a bit skiddish. With time though, and in a smaller flock, I'm sure they'll become super social :) and they should lay some cool eggs!

Ace- I checked on your girls and they're looking like happy campers! They're not cozy with Red yet but they're not fighting either so I guess that's a good sign.

I finally got to see my girls play tug of war! I found a very large horned caterpillar in my tomato forest, so I threw it to the chickens. Kind of fun to watch. Yes, I'm a little twisted like that. Sorry.

My twisted side has wanted to do this but then I rescue the stupid things and put them in the cherry tomato bed. I know I'm going to hate myself next year but this year, how many cherry tomatoes does one really need? Unless you feed them to the chickens who gobble them like candy.

I already "donated" a whole crop of tomatoes to my chickens a couple years ago. Little boogers.

I think it was a little over a week ago. Like 9 or 10 days? Let me try and find out.
EDIT: today should be day 11 :)

Birdman, glad I'm not the only one! I threw a two-inch grasshopper in the other day, but they didn't fight over it. I'll have to comb my tomatoes for more worms :)
