Utah!

Just candled my eggs for the HAL. 10 quitters, 5 clears, and 4 that could either still be alive or just barely died last night. I hate this game!

Birdman, sorry you lost your last Leghorn but I know she had a good life with you. Thanks for being so good to your girls.

Bummer! And the first time with your new bator. I'm so sorry! No fun at all!!!

I had a Wheaten Marans hatch from ladycats this morning, yay! It is adorable, pics to come. I was shocked, these eggs look pretty bad, and are already a day late--one FBCM is pipped, that is it.

Red, I'm so sorry those eggs are not doing well...you may want to keep them all in until at least day 10 though, I have often had eggs be just fine that looked funky or even clear in the beginning, and they seem to develop at a different rate in the beginning too, some will vein a lot faster, etc. Day 5 is awfully early still.

Lisa, hooray for your Marans baby!

Ok, this is going to sound like a "poor me" post, and I'm sorry - I don't mean it that way. I have been wondering for a while if my flock of Icelandics wouldn't be better off with someone else who can do more with them. I really want to see this breed succeed and build it's numbers, and that's obviously not happening with me. I don't know. I love my babies and I don't want to give them up. I feel really conflicted right now.

But if I give them up and try with a different breed, who's to say I won't have the same problem? I just don't understand why I am doing so poorly at this hatching thing!

Soo had to share this..I used to love to dance, and loved the movie way back when...hope you know the movie..still funny if you didn't..Cute!

Okay enough with the dang negative news. Here is something I thought was a little funny. DH was messing with the tiller a moment ago, ad two of my girls decided that the churned dirt was the perfect place to have a bath.
