Utah!

Wow, our family is having the worst luck with chickens. One of our baby chicks isn't acting right. It is our welsummer. She hasn't been eating, and has been very lethargic. For a while she started getting better, standing up chirping, eating when we put her beak in water. We condemned her to be well enough to be put back with the other chicks. We came back later, and she was back to the way she was before. I am really just about ready to give up on chickens now after this weekend. We really hope she will make it, but it isn't looking very positive.

Who was wanting a NN? I have one I can give up. :/ I love them all. Can't keep them all. No one knows how I feel!
I am still up for buying your lil black NN silkie pullet if you do decide to sell her to use with my paints. Just wanted to throw that out there one more time. Go Silkies! Okay i'm done now, lol. Love them. lol

Had to share because I think this picture is hilarious. :)
My littlest chicken whisperer... Errr... screamer? Lol. She always wants the most rambunctious chicks but they sit with her nicely while they tend to run away from the rest of us. All the chicks flock to her when she goes in the run.

It's all about those Hens, those Hens, those Hens… don't need no rooster!

And a hearty good evening Utah, to old and new. It seems the thread has been busy, me too, such is life it would seem. However I am lucky to have my time punctuated with chickens, mostly those lovely hens noted above.

First off I would like to share a photograph of some of our lovely Easter Eggs. It would seem that brown eggs make the best colored eggs, they made for a colorful weekend, last.

A couple of views of the size, shape and color of eggs my birds are giving me. The littlest one is sitting on a penny, the biggest was a double yoker. We have thus far this year had a triple yoker as well. One yoke is fine by me, but the girls just seem to be trying to out do each other… I do appreciate their collective efforts.

Lastly, my rooster pen is working out well and the girls appreciate the relief. Like I noted at the start of this post… It's all about the Hens!

I'll try to catch up on the thread… If I missed something important please tip me off.

Best to all and your birds,

RJ

I have someone coming from Vernon, that works here in Spanish Fork to bring me some more Marans eggs, and a few OE's. Where's Vernon? lol...It's great that he will bring them by....at 6 in the morning! That's ok..not shipped. :)

RH those eggs are beautiful! Since our girls are laying yet we bought some from a local. We've been slacking though and haven't dyed them yet. :/ Did you use a dye kit for your vivid colors or just stuff from the cupboard?

This little cutie is going to be a beauty. Pure white. Came from an egg marked Paint though..so not sure if spots...or a spot will show up later. lol
