Utah!

I'm so sad when I get on here after so much time has passed. My son threw my phone in the toilet, which is how i would check posts on here. I just haven't gotten around to replacing it. And my classes were intense for a while. Im on a break rightness, though.

Red, stats are in. Two of the Icees hatched sometime in the wee hours this morning. Man are they just the cutest little balls of fluff! I couldn't peek for long, Little Mother was about to eat me alive. ^.^ Candled the other two Icelandic eggs, and found they had quite at about day 10. So 50%. I didn't read all the posts I had missed, but I did see you had set some more eggs about a week ago. I'll be interested to find out how they are doing. Im sorry if you've already updated on them...

Other than the Icelandics, I have two EE/austrolorp mixes hatched, and two more with movement. One of my EE's has super long muffs, and surprisingly lays a blue egg. She is all black, very pretty. One of the eggs I set is from her, can't tell yet if hers has hatched.

@LPeaslee It turns out two of the three FBCM I bought from you are cockerels. ha ha ha I'm 90% certain that is, as their combs are huge compared to the other. That's how it turns out buying straight run. :) Made my husband laugh.

It's official...I'm an addict. This hatching stuff is so much fun!
So now I need a bigger bator! I have a Brinsea mini advance that is amazing, but it only holds 7-10 eggs.

I thought that I wanted to get the Brinsea octo 20, but after reading what everyone said about the old farm innovator I'm not sure which to choose. I was able to find the older version of the innovator on Amazon.

What would you all do?

@LPeaslee---
Question on your ladycats Marans babies.

The one I hatched---is black and is getting brown speckles all over the body! None of my Marans ever look like that, they are solid until juvie stage then get a little copper around the neck, boys get the red shoulders...

Are your babies all solid? I am wondering if mine was a mix with a wrong daddy somehow. Weird! Just wondering if yours feathered out properly so far.

I'm having fun watching my little mutt feather in. It looks so silly with its random patches of black feathers popping through its yellow fuzz. :)

I use the farm innovators circulating fan. Its still not great and I still end up loosing a bunch and helping alot but I think thats going to be expected with any of these styrofoam bators. If I had the option to get a brinsea I would! Brinsea will always be the best :)

You ready for these eggs yet? I am coming to Ogden Sunday morning and meeting someone to drop off chicks about 9:45-10 I could bring these to you for your Mini :D I think you could fit more than 7 because they are small, you could cram a bunch in there and take the turner plates out and hand turn a few days then the extras make up for any clears or quitters. Just holler if you want them Sunday :D I could not remember the dates of your hatch.
