Utah!

hey folks... as I am about to have my baby any day now (literally... if the baby doesn't come this weekend, we are being induced on monday) I have come to the decision that I need to find a home for my ducks.... I have 3 welsh harlequins, 2 females, 1 male. They are NOT social with people at all.... I have no idea what the previous owner did, but I did try to get them to like people touch, and they just don't. They are about a month from laying... They are beautiful, I just will not have the time.

I am asking $20 for the trio... and they must all go together. To my friends here on BYC, if they go TODAY I will do $10, but it HAS to be today.

I will be posting them on KSL as well... I need them to go super quick.

edit: I am in Springville... ;)

My aunt visited Cynthia yesterday, and she called me saying how much fun she had picking up the chicks. My aunt also said cynthia chastised me for not posting a picture of our most recent hatch... So here he is... Lucca!
Yes, it's about time! How cute is that? And we've been missing out! He is darling. Hope your Aunt likes the chickens.

Have to ask, is this cute little guy's name pronounced like the c's are k's? Or different? I love different names.

Yup! "Luke-uh" :) it's the Italian form of Luke. (My grandpa is from Italy.)

I hope she likes them too! She is so glad to get hens. Silkies are what you have her, right?

Now that I have a bantam/broody coop, my Cochin is going broody. I have to try it out to make sure it's a good coop right?

So, I'm looking for some fluffy silkie eggs (don't need sop, just fluffier than my IFA silkie), some gold laced Cochin eggs, or show girl eggs. (I can dream right?)

so i looked where my welsummer sleeps and found two old eggs that had dried out. they were 7 feet up on the wall of the coop where she sleeps. i guess she went to bed before she layed so layed them up there lol. i cant believe i did not see them before. she is such a crazy girl. she is also proof that hens can have spurs lol

That is funny you mention this. I went out at night last week to see if everyone was on the roost, I have some that like the nest boxes little stinks, and there is the RSL in the next box standing up! I ask her what in the world she was doing in there, that she always gets on the roost, then I see it..an egg. An egg laid in the dark? A first for me..well, for one of my hens.

i swear sometimes they get to chatting/eating and hold off until its too late. sadly after i posted about this i went out and found another wedged in the wall and while trying to get it out it was not dry and i got egg all over my face, rotten egg that is. yeah not fun. it was hidden behind the 2x4. chicken wire is going up tomorrow to block that spot so she cant roost there.

Did you just say...................................egg on your face?

I'm sorry. I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time. Hope you washed your face really good! Get that out of the eyes..and nose, and mouth..and, oh I'm so sorry.

Glad you have a plan on fixing that little stinkers place of laying.
