Utah!

red, I never know what I will be hatching the first part of the yr.  :D   I love doing the NYD Hatch A Long.   If my Lavender Orpington is being..the .. boy by then, I may just let him breed what I have out there and see what I get instead of getting shipped eggs.

I guess I didn't realize that you had an Orp boy? Dang! We need to get you an Orp hen, lady! I loooove those black English Orps..... Just one more breed on my forbidden crazy chicken lady list.

I wish I had another lavender..a girl of course. :) This one is only about a month old. Pretty sweet already. I love..those English O's!

Sharing a few (ok sort of a lot) of pictures of some of my breeding stock for next spring. Ohhhh I love them, yes I do! You see, the goal is showgirls, but sometimes the silkie babies just turn out so dang nice, I can't help but keep a few! They are all still pretty young and getting their mature feathers, but I think they are getting close to what the final product will look like.

I have two of these. They are splash, and silkied, but frizzled silkied, like curly fur. I love them! They are going with a blue regular Silkied Boy.

SEE HERE! This looks like a butt----but then you see the beak. You see why I talk to butts?? They are confusing lol

You can see the blue male in the background. I am not thrilled about him, but he is pretty decent. Not spectacular though, after hatching 200 chicks, the males that I kept nearly all went splash, and of the few blues I had to choose between the nice toes or fluffy heads, it was tough to get one with both that were amazing. I have high hopes he will make some good babies though. He is really young still and has lots of filling out to do. He is about 12 weeks old.

Then my truly frizzled silkies, oh these guys are so fun! I am keeping three black and three blue, the blue are dark so hard to tell them apart. I love their eyes. They are going with the regular blue silkie boy also. He has a harem of nice girls for Spring chicks :D

Again, photo proof that the right/wrong end is easy to confuse on that splash right there haha :D

I almost forgot about my Sylvia. She hatched in February, her hairdo is amazing, it is bigger than my Polish :D IT is getting dark out, I'll have to share some more of her running around, she is a fluff butt for sure.

There is a lady in Blackfoot with Very nice Lavender Orps, Rfunnyfarm, or Rfunnyfarms, if you ever want me to pick one up I can, if we can find a way to get it south to you! I am up there all the time. Not sure if she has any left for fall but she hatches lots early in the year and goes to chickenstock with them.

bitsy, that fav. roo mix is handsome.  You should see the girl version in my back yard.  From Brian.  His big ol noisy beautiful Favorelle made some cute babies.  And handsome.  This girl out here has a cute muff going on too.  Different than an EE or Am.

How are you feeling?

I love my 3 babies I kept from him! I am sad I have to find a home for the roo.

I am doing pretty good :) just forever playing catch up on sleep. She had her first bath tonight :)
