Utah!

Thanks, I can tell, a few are going to make it. I will be working on them after they are out though. When they have to hang out in the shell like that, they don't get the excesses they need, so I use a very light, and I mean a very light solution of electrolytes. Plus, sometimes they have leg issues..have to tape some legs, but those legs are usually pretty easy fixes. Sometime no legs issues..that would be good. Back to check on babies.

oh my gosh, Cynthia. That is terrible! I wonder why they were so goopy, even though you used lower humidity? I noticed my BCM chicks had goop in the bottom of their eggs, but the others didn't. See, I wouldn't have messed with the eggs on hatch day like that, and they would've all died.

Lisa, you should just go to the feed store and buy a single chick, that's what you should do.

Thanks again for hte birthday wishes, it was very sweet and touching!! I have to admit I didn't have any cake. I will have some soon though.

Cynthia, eek! I'm SO glad you checked on your babies! I'm hoping the day goes more smoothly and less rocky for you.

You are so naughty to tell me that. So naughty. Bad Sphinx, Bad.
Shame on you Red for encouraging this unacceptable behaviour...
:he

Donna, I have had calls on the chicks not even hatched yet and people want to reserve them in advance. Those pictures you sent me for my ad are amazing, thank you! I love the one with the black head and blue laced red body. Gee I hope some hatch! My others took so long to sell, these boom, as soon as I put up the ad. Almost all Idahoans driving here to get them. I told them no guarantees. If some bad thing happens to my hatch could I come buy them from you and transport some back here so people are not too disappointed? And get myself one :) Unless yours are sold. Thanks again for giving me eggs to experiment on, I think I am getting the hang of it. Now we will see what happens on the eggs I bought from Idaho.....they are the big ones so I am SOOOO nervous. I have read the big ones are less predicatable.
And I hope I can sell my little remaining splash chick from the last batch before it gets too old.
Poor girl will be glad to get some chickie friends this weekend....if I do not run to the feed store first and buy more now that THAT idea got into my head somehow......ahem..... ;)

Lisa--

Absolutely, I have probably 15-20 very pretty little BLRW chicks already out, none of whom were ever near the chicken plague chicks. I also have 19 in the 'bator set to hatch the end of this coming week. I absolutely love hatching the chicks! I had to stop putting them in the 'bator everytime I got eggs because I was getting overrun with chicks and I wanted to settle out the chicken plague issue before I set any more. If you can sell 'em, feel free to come and get them! Then I would have an excuse to hatch more!

And don't you dare run out to the feed store with me having so many chicks here you could choose from! I promise not to give you any from the chicken plague, just in case!!

Thank you! I will keep this in mind in case I need more so people are not bummed out. i am all about people getting the chickens they love :) if I sell all of these and there are none left for me I would like to get some more for sure.

Here is my poor lonesome baby. And her little plaything. She just sits on it and cheep cheeps really loud all day. Hope she sleeps at some point!

Aw, sad little cutie! If I were a genie, I'd blink a little friend up there for her!

I sent you a bunch of chick pics so you can see the coloring types on the ones you are hatching this week-end. Sorry for the PM pic overload!

Aww Lisa, I hope your little baby is okay until tomorrow. What a sweet little thing. Is that one from the second batch of the BW eggs you did? If so, just looking at the feathering on that and then comparing it to the larger baby I have gives me more hope that I have two girls. It's not that I'd mind having a boy and a girl, I already mentioned that. I'd just like to know the gender so that I can pick out a name!

A blue is out! And chirping the same way~I'm sure the Lisa's little lonely is. That means, strong baby!

Red--That one hatched on Wed after I saw you so it is further behind. I was pretty sure 2,3,4, were girls. Their wing feathers all came in a little faster and tails popped up....1 was in the middle..... 5 looked like a boy for sure. I was thinking wow all those females! Then the second batch hatched and 6,7,8 all looked like boys. Using the feathersexing on the wings at 1-2 days old ...the girls having the two rows and the boys 1. Thing is it does not work on some breeds and so I don't trust that so much but I try it as it is all we really have to go on at birth. Your Number one had kind of two rows, but they were harder to see than 2,3,4. Then watching the tails it kind of followed that same prediction....then the feet were a little thicker on those last ones as well. After a week 6,7,8, still have hardly any wing feathers. I think this one might be a boy that I have left. I would have guessed your #1 was a girl, but because of the behaviour it made me wonder, it was not as docile as some of the others so I think you have a 50/50 on it. Plus the dark comb does not give you any help!

I hope it is a girl! That would be so perfect. If it is a boy you could sell me some eggs :)
