Thanks for putting up pictures.

Hey, random question for y'all. How many of you actually go out and sit with your chickens for a little while, either just to watch them or socialize with them? I've been taking my teenagers out in the garden every day and it can be so relaxing. Made me wonder who else does that.

I do it often. They know to come up and be by me as I talk with them, they talk back don't ya know. :)

just outside my coop and run is my relaxing area, i have a lounger and a nice side table, a table top torch for some light and to keep bugs away, sometimes i watch the bug zapper at night, i go out there and meditate, burn incense and drink a beer and just sit and talk with my girls. i will open the run door and they all will come and take a nap on me or we will have a chat. i have a nice apple tree that reaches out over where i sit. lots of bushes to make it more private too. me and the girls share a mister when its hot so we keep cool. i love sitting out with my girls :)

You mean chicken TV? Sure, we have chairs set up, the boys have a little park bench, we let them out and kick back to relax. Can't do it everyday, unfortunately, due to lack of time, but whenever we can. I put a big leaf pile next to their coop last fall, and its nice to watch them scratch and peck their way through it. Lately they've been working on digging big holes to look for bugs. I'm a little surprised the boys haven't helped them in that...

Hey RedIII, We love to "commune" with our girls. Every day for at least an hour or two and longer on the weekends when they can get out in the yard. They are so funny to watch. And we have found out you cannot out wit them. They were eating the lower leaves of my honeysuckle bushes so we decided to build a little fence in front of the bushes to keep the girls out. Stupid humans! The next day we noticed that they were now on top of the fencing and really enjoying the leaves higher up on the bushes!

You make it sound so nice! I also sit under an apple tree! Really.

I talk with my girls, as I'm sure many do! Ok Brad, it's great to share treats, but as long as you don't share the beer!

Ok, I have 8 babies out, and one that is working on it... That's a lot more than I thought I was going to get. Took our son to the dr. came back to a lot that just decided to zip and hatch!

The nice part, just had someone call that heard, word of mouth, that I am selling chicks. Yep, I sold 4 to her, until she comes tomorrow, and sees the choice. All of these babies are blue, or splash. I do have black outside, the ones that I just sent off with Red, so she wants one of each color, and maybe two of one color.

My daughter's friend, so I know where they are going!! Yaay.

7 out of 19 pipped here. Not sure how many of them were good--I didn't have time to candle them before lockdown (that seems to be a theme lately). Obviously at least 7 though, I guess.

I'm actually more excited to see what the broody hen up at the land hatches, since I've never had a broody hen before!

Me, me, me! When I take my chicks outside, I sit there with them and they will crawl all over me (poop all over me) but I love it! They are so interesting to watch. Which reminds me of a question I have...my 6 week olds (as of today!) have just started doing that head twitch. Why do chickens do that? I used to think that it was because their combs jiggling all over the place tickled or something, but my teenagers don't have combs! So that can't be it. It's just odd, so I hope I get used to it. LOL
And BTW, I agree with Red, that blue Orp baby is adorable!

Hooray! Thank you everyone for sharing your chicken TV moments. It's fun to read. Brad, sounds like you've got a nice setup out there. I usually take something to eat while I'm outside babysitting, which can be kind of interesting when I'm eating something like KFC.......

I know, I know. I'm twisted. I admit it.

Sasha, I'm not sure why they do the head bob thing, but I'd just figured that it had to do with their balance. You know how some people swing their arms when they walk? Kind of like that. Or maybe it's just that they're birds, and birds twitch a lot

Hey Lisa, I'm not sure, but I think I can see some pink coming in on Stevie's comb. I'm so excited!

GUESS WHAT I GOOOOOOTTTTT!!!!!

Yup That is it!!! LaVerne did it. Gave me a good one :) Shirley's are actually getting darker brown with big brown speckles---not like that weird white spot that I posted last week. They are getting better than I thought they would be. But this one from Laverne is much more like it :) :) :)

Red--Stevie! I bet they are getting big. My lone splash is getting huge. Her feathers are curling outward too, wierd! I will have to post a pic. Looks kinda crazy but I like it.
