Utah!

Shinx, I didn't get an expensive camera..just a small cannon, but it does so much more than my other camera. Your pictures are always so nice looking, you must have a great camera.
I've been having fun with mine..can ya tell?

Hope I'm not boring everyone with pictures. I just take my little camera out with me to see what's up when I'm with my chickens.

Ok, I did a bad thing!!!!! Lisa..can relate to this..only I was the one that did it, and these eggs were just set the day before. I was changing eggs over to another bator. Unplugged a bator. Thought it was the one that I was getting the eggs from. It wasn't! It was the one with the pretty ruth eggs in it! :(

Thankfully, I recheck temps and humidity before I go to bed..and I went to bed late last night. Anyway, it was a good two hrs. before I noticed the temp read...80, and the humidity...60. The eggs were cool to the touch all right. I keep telling myself..mama hen gets off of the eggs for a while in the beginning....right? But for two hrs? Oh dear! I will be so mad at myself. Hoping that I can see some movement in those dark eggs in 5 or 6 days..I am a nervous wreck..have never done that before.

Four are Ameraucanas, four (hopefully) olive eggers from BCM/Amer cross, and 19 EE's from SLW, BO, Australorps, green laying EE's, and Salmon Favs - they have 5 toes. I almost doubled my flock in one day! And one of the longest days of my life. I knew I would be anxious - but not THAT anxious. Everything that pipped lived. One was breach, and I helped, which I swore I would not do. It started out with curled toes, but I put it on an egg carton to "exercise" and in the morning it was ok. I don't know how you do it time after time! I have appreciation for you experienced hatchers. Still waiting for my blood pressure to return to normal and loaded it up again. June 1st hatch anyone?

I want to see pics of these curtains you're talking about.

Ann
I'm lovin it!

Wow Cynthia, what a bummer. He is WAY cute! I am glad you found him a good home. How hard is it to find someone to take a rooster that doesn't intend to eat him? I see them up on ksl all of the time and I wonder what happens to them. I am big softie.

Lisa I thought I had been Roostered this morning. There was a small rooster in my run when I went to let the girls out. I tried to catch him but he flew off. I realized it was my neighbors. I have heard him but never saw him before...Going to have to chat with them, I don't want that thing over here.
Also forgot to latch the rabbit hutch this morning and 2 babies were out running around. So I had to catch them too...Was quite the morning.

Hope you all had a better one.

Cindy, too funny, you were thinking, LISA!!! Then you realize it was not me putting that bad boy in there. He probably sees all these Purdy girls you are getting and is getting big ideas.....

Cynthia hope those eggs are ok! Mine got unplugged around Day 12, the whole night. They were fine so hope yours are fine too. That icelandic egg is hysterical! Wonder if it couldbe twins? That would be amazing!

Sasha--glad your birthday was good! Busy! I got tired just reading all the fun things you did, now you need a big Mother's Day nap!

Hi Happy Nice to see you here!

And Ann-----thanks for sharing the pics. Sweet babies~! Wish they could stay that way longer, I just love the fuzzies.

Thanks, he was a cute little guy. And would like to say..love your Avatar. I just got a little guy like that, only his coloring is the piebald. He is red and white. Fun little critters, and funny too. :)

And oh, I know what happens to roosters people can't sell. I just had a guy call and ask if I had any roosters..must have seen my ad on ksl for my Exchequers. I told him that my babies were only a month old. He says...oh. Then he asks me if I have any older chickens I want to sell. He has a thick accent..can't tell for sure, if it was Hispanic or Vietnamese. I think it was the same guy that came and got my last cockerel. Vietnamese. They really like to get the roosters for food. I gave him name and number of a friend that was just saying today that she needed to get rid of her rooster. He probably got it. :)

Birthday girl yesterday? And I missed out on the party!! Well, hope you had a fun day!! And, by the way, I have an Aunt, that looves, looves, purple. To the extermes. She is in her late 60's, and has gone to wearing something purple since she was in her 50's..or earlier..I just can't remember her not wearing purple. Pretty cute. Love my Auntie.
Your Priesthood camp out is this weekend? Ours is in June. We are hoping our son can get that day off from work, it will probably be the last camp out that he will have with his dad for two years..or longer..he is leaving for his mission this year. Just finishing up paper work. We should know soon where he is going!!

Ok, basty bum, I don't give them anything for it..I just clip around the vent to make sure it doesn't have a lot of fur for the poo to get stuck on, then you just have to wait it out most of the time. Keep cleaning until their little symptoms say ok, I'll accept food better now. I only give the medicated food to them for a couple of days. Then to the reg. chick food. That's me. Not everyone believes in the med. food. I just use it a while, then done with it. But like I said, if you keep having to clean it's bum..a clipped bum is easier to clean.

Yep, birthday girl yesterday. :) I won't tell you how many times I've turned 29, but I figured this would have to be my last year and I'll have to add a couple years next birthday.

Our Bishopric figured that the Cinnamon Creek campground in Avon would start to get pretty crowded after this weekend so did it a little early this year. Where does your son hope his mission call sends him? My sis-in-law went to Tokyo, and I've had cousins all over the place, and a nephew currently in Mexico.

I just cleaned bums again for the 2nd time today. Sounds like now is a good time to trim a few feathers! :) Thanks for the tip.

Oh, no! I hope your pretty eggs will be OK! I really think chicken embryos are often tougher than we give them credit for.
