Yes the price of the eggs is really high. Would have turned my hair gray if wasn't already gray. I just wondered. because the blue eggs i'm getting from my Americana seem pretty pale. I wanted to get some really pretty blue eggs. I also had not see a really good Marin egg. when I ordered the olives she also sent 3 marin eggs. I was amazed. One of them is the biggest prettiest egg I have ever seen. Looked like shiny chocolate. I told hubby if it hatches I am keeping that chick. She sent the three purebred marin eggs as a bonus. Her olive eggs were dark and big as well really pretty. I have 2 marins. One isn't laying yet or even close the other is a copper and she lays brown egg not chocolate oness. I wonder if she is a sex link. She has the same color as my black sex link but isn't as big.
THis is what I meant...I have been teasing Cynthia about her declaration of being done hatching, when you said you had free EE eggs I thought her wheels are gonna be Turning!! haha because I do not know if she can help herself
But my incubator is in the closet - and I think I declared 'done' on another thread - but did set one more round of my blue eggs - don't tell hubby - so I was teasing back.

I was wondering if you could take Lola with you so that Red could come get her from you in Taylorsville it is closerLola is the delaware chick, right? I'd be happy to take her! Could I keep her with the older hens I'm getting from you, or should I get another chick her age? I don't want her to be alone. ...I knew it was only a matter of time before chicken math struck.![]()
I cannot keep her at the pool. But if Red cannot you are welcome to her too. I just want to make sure Red has dibs if she wants her
This is one of her faves
If you do keep her joybells she will need to be seperate from these big girls just a bit longer, my big girls have been introduced to young 'uns several times, they are getting more used to it but big ones always freak out at first. I would say in two weeks, put her in a cage near them so they can all see each other, after a week of that then try releasing her, being sure that there are some hiding places close in your run, even a box with a small doorway cut out that she can run into, a few sticks in the corner, just some sort of hiding spot. She may hide a bit at first but then will slowly get braver as she gets bigger, they ignore her more and more, then voila you are done. It does take some patience and a couple weeks though
If you decide no, and Red decides no it is no problem!
Though I don't know how long I'd be able to keep her for Red, because I'm just in Taylorsville visiting with family for a while, and would like to get back home with the hens so that I can get them comfortable. I'm sure what ever happens, it'd fit into my plans.
Call me if you decide not to take her by 9 and i will leave her here
Thanks so much! If I do not here from you i will bring her.
And they are gettting pretty big maybe 9 weeks plus she said. If for some reason you want me to leave yours there so you can get them sooner than I can drive them back up to you, let me know, otherwise I will pick them up for you.
