Utah!

Ooh, those FBCM are very pretty! I love the FCBM rooster, one of my favorite roosters, then there's the Welsummer rooster. They are both good lookin boy chickens. :p

Hey Brad, here are a few pictures of the box that my Grizz is in. Does your Uncle make these you say?

I could have sworn that the bag was blue. Guess I'll have two burgundy colors.
They Give you a card, you can see at the top, with the rainbow bridge poem.
A little lock and key.

No takes on my girls, I will probably put them on ksl next week. Such hard decisions! I know that my blue splash is a good broody mom, so I would want to keep her for that, still need to see if she is a good mama now. I think she will be.

I got that white felt

I am ready to downsize on bantams. I love my Silkies, but I think one going broody is going to be enough, plus, I have that darling little Favorelle that has stolen my heart. So, my Cotton is for sale if anyone is interested. She has been laying like crazy! In fact, she has now laid an egg 4 days in a row. She's a talker. She's a looker. Also, I am going to sell my Birchen cochin. Darling, but I only want to keep two bantams at once. So, my Princess that is broody stays, and my Favorelle. I am pretty sure at this point, that the beautiful, and I mean beautiful, partridge that Diana gave me, is a boy. If you want him back Diana, let me know. Or, if you know someone that can have him. He just keeps getting more and more gorgeous with that dark orange mixed in with the darker colors.
Here is a picture of Cotton..you've all seen her. Going to be thinning more out. I have a lot of chickens out there! That I shouldn't have. It's been fun hatching, watching the ones I want to keep, but I have to make up my mind as to the ones I want to keep. When all three of my blue and green egg layers start, I will be selling one of those. I am thinking the big blue EE. She's gorgeous. I have a blue little pullet that is the 5th generation that I am going to keep, and, the one that came from an olive egg..still trying for that olive egg!
Maybe I can find a picture of the blue EE..I know I just posted one.

My white girl Cotton I think she would do well at the fair showings

Not a very good picture, but she really is pretty, my DH even comments on her. Dark
head and neck, lighter body. She has red going down in her neck feathers too.

Here's the birchen..this was taken a while ago, she is so much fuller now, and is squatting
when I catch her. Yells at me the second that back door opens, she knows I'm the food
person. They are alll so nice. I don't like having to do this, but I really need to get realistic
here. A couple of bantams, and try and keep down to a normal range of LF. I have 11 I am
watching now! I also have a Wesummer that I want to keep, and then there is the lavender
Orpington that I am not keeping. She is getting bigger and doing well. Very pretty. Fully feathered now.
how much do you want for cotton?

If on ksl I was going to ask 15, but for someone here, just 10. She was hatched this spring. She laid another egg today, 5 days in a row!

The birchen is a girl, for sure. :) This picture is older, she has a more distinct white necklace now. Cute little voice too. This is Button.

beautiful box! yeah my uncle started making them this year for a guy that does animal cremation. its great because it gives my uncle a bit of money and it lets him use the craft he loves. my uncle used to build cabinets for a living once and he loves it. being disabled now after 5 or 6 heart attacks this gives him something to do to and gives him extra money. my uncle also does beautiful birdhouses that have tons of detail to them. he can do just about anything with wood :) edit: love the name grizz, i have a parrot with the same name :)

Cute hat, Whittni!

Cynthia, that box is beautiful. My inlaws have similar boxes for two of their dogs. My father in law is an amazing woodworker, I don't know why he didn't build the boxes himself. He gave me a recipe box a few months ago and it's one of my very favorite things.

Thanks Brad and Sphinx. I am excited to see the color I picked out for Toby. It's called Alder. I think it is a lighter wood? I'm not a wood person, but pretty sure this is pine, so I wanted something different. We'll see. :)

Well, I just heard a chicken out there announcing..that she had to lay. I sneak out, and the white EE mix is in a nest box. Now, if she is the one that laid the egg the other day, those aren't blue blue eggs! In fact, it was a pretty dark green egg. So, if she lays a blue, that means, I have two..oh, I hear her again..she can't be done that fast..can she? lol...have to go see!

False alarm, lol..the NH is making noise. Crazy chicken has to lay, but because another chicken is in one of the top nest boxes, she won't go in. She's been the only one laying in the upper ones, there is one below that my Miss Piggy uses. I hope she doesn't go in and scare the EE off!

Ok, she did lay it fast..I think..this is so silly. I heard her announcing, just going on in the coop doorway. I hurried to check on the egg color, there was the Wheaten A.! I go to lift her up a bit to see if there is an egg. Yes, the same color as the other day. So, pretty sure that the EE layed it, because she is still going on about it..now, if the Wheaten lays today, how fun. Hope it's a blue, I don't care how light, just so it's blue. This other egg is quite green. Not an olive green though.

Isn't this silly? I am still excited about my girls laying, and who lays what. And I've been watching this for years. I love my chickens. :))
