Utah!

Blu, that's cute to watch him moving the ball around. He doesn't quite seem to know what he should do with it, does he?

Cynthia, it actually made me laugh that Cotton went broody. Is that bad? I love the image of this little white poof going after your boots

Lisa, sorry that so many of your eggs are quitters/aren't developing

Maynard must still be shy with the ladies.

So, my poor BF. He works two jobs and is literally gone all day. He hasn't had the time to go and get some fencing to put up in his back yard. I guess my EE roo lost his tail feathers AGAIN to a neighbor's dog. Aaargg!! What is it with people and their dogs?! I feel bad for the rooster, too, in a way. He may not be the bravest about protecting his girls, but for some reason, he is a magnet for dogs. So long as he's around, there's a good chance that the dogs will go for him, and not the hens. Makes me mad, though. This new job is really going to help me out, but I think that one of the things I'll do with my new earnings is to go and get some fencing, then install it by myself, if I have to. I know my BF feels bad that he hasn't been able to get it and put it up yet.

Birdman, do your parrots usually go into molt around a certain time of year? I remember you were saying that you had some feathers I could have.

my birds will molt all the time. i will find feathers now and then. let me check what i have on hand, i save all the clean ones but sometimes the dogs will get them. but yeah i will be putting some aside for you as i get them. may have some now but i gotta look for them. they are all from my miligold macaw so there is some cool colors to them. still they are not perfect feathers as she is a rescue and we are working on feather health but they are still nice :)

Birdman, awesome. Thank you so much! A Miligold. I'll bet she's pretty. I really don't mind if some of the feathers are "worn with love". I use some of the nicer feathers I find for jewelry or just to sell, but if they're not in prime condition and I like them, I save them for myself

If I had the ability to care for one, I would love to have a military macaw (even though they're loud) I love birds.........ah, heck. I just love animals. I wouldn't mind having a Conure, either. But until I can get everything rolling smoothly with chickens, I think I will leave the exotic birds to more capable hands.

yeah not a problem. a miligold is a cross of a military and a blue and gold, they are rare. my girl is named oscar and she is fairly nude. and yeah macaws can be loud but they are not too bad. if a cockatoo yells you can hear them for miles away. macaws are not bad at all. conures can be super loud and annoying, some more than others. i love african birds but me and this macaw fell in love so i took her home. i love african greys but also have a meyers and i had a senegal. i need to have you come see a friend of mine, she is a person i do rescue work, have you meet some of the rescues. we have two mini macaws that are fun, one i know you would love. anyone think chickens take a lot you should see what i put into my parrots. i mean my macaw cage i can actually stand up in and remember i am 6 foot 9... but i recycle a lot of the parrot waste such as food they do not eat and give it to the chickens. but seriously red you should at least come meet some rescue birds. they are so much fun. i prefer rescues. we also have a rescue conure that is 6 months old or so, just a baby, some idiot got it for their kid as a gift and their kid does not live with them... yeah not good

got a hatchery catalog in the mail today... this could be dangerous.....

Oh OH! Be very careful! LOL

Found some pretty birds from a site a while back and saved them...posting a few, maybe you can tell us what they are..some I do know actually. :) Beautiful birds!

hmm, more love birds?

I have Noooo idea what these are for sure! Aren't they cute?
Sure are noisy critters. Have had them through the years,
but I have to say, the love birds were the worst. I love canaries.

Sorry Lisa, I know what you are feeling. :( So being a know it all again. If the smaller ones are making it..remember, lower temp. If it's a still air, keep it around 99 or 100. Not too much humidity! For now. :p

I have one egg left in my bator that went into lock down. Last I checked, the one under my blue splash is still moving real good! Hope it makes it, and this one, then mama will have two babies.

Cotton has gone broody! She laid her egg, and wouldn't get off of it, then when I got her off of the egg, put her by the food, she attacked my boots again..lol..and after eating, went back to the nest area. Clucking. Maybe the move to another place will bring her out of it. Unless, themadchicken wants a broody girl now, and has some eggs to stick under her. :p

Sundance, you are great on keeping up on these things..I'm glad that the turkeys are ok!
Of coarse i will let her hatch some eggs but all i have are mixed LF hens and a bantam RIR rooster. If anyone has some LF eggs they want to donate to the cause i am sure Cotton will be smiling from ear to ear. My Silkie rooster is still to young for breeding , but this might give Cotton some practice.
