Woo hoo we have 20 degrees here too! Yay! I went out to get eggs and it felt a lot different than the last few days for sure. Maybe I can scrape the coop floor out without having to chisel the frozen poo with the flat shovel....it needs cleaned but it is a solid mass of frozen poop piles. I keep hacking at it and throwing new shavings in, it is getting gross! Praying for a day of sun and 30's temps so it will defrost.
Blujems, that goat is So cute! She is wearing thigh high boots, very cool. So sorry to hear about the mom, that is awful. I know how much you love those goats, hugs to you my friend

that makes me sad too.
Hattie congrats on the babies! Sorry to hear about the stress though, you are so sweet. Try not to worry!
I have a pip this morning..a day early again. I wonder if I am running the bator too hot, they keep coming a little early.

The pip is a Marans egg.
So here are my details on chicken train chicks

...
I am still planning on coming to Murray on Saturday. I can post chick pics (hoping some hatch!) Thursday and if anyone wants any I could bring them south with me....I do not have room for many and only want to keep about 3 from this hatch. Don't want to jinx the hatch...but there potentially could be FBCM chicks from a mom and dad that came from pawtraitart originally...(raised by Blujems)..nice dark eggs....then Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana's (only a few of those eggs) that are from the same stock that we got at chickenstock last year (from Azriel originally) ..then there are 4 eggs that the mom is Cuckoo Marans ( IFA hatchery stock) and the dad is a blue wheaten Am....those are the ones I am dying to see, they will be EE's that should be light olive or green eggers..and I am
HOPING for puffy cheeks! I wonder if they will be barred or wheaten colored? And lastly a couple more EE's from a blue wheaten roo over a non standard color Ameraucana/EE that is goldish in color.....that mom lays big ole green eggs. Should be a fun mix of babies. I have also set some more of the cuckoo marans/blue wheaten eggs (6 more) to hatch in 2 weeks, and they all are developing so crossing fingers. The cuckoo mom lays really nice sized eggs. They are medium tan so I would not expect the offspring to lay dark olive..maybe light olive or greenish..just guessing here...
I still have 2 showgirls for sale also. They are getting bigger, 3 weeks old, $6 ea...
(madchicken, sundance..holler if you want one!)
So about Thursday I will post pics of whatever I have to bring and if anyone wants one that can meet me somewhere on the way from Logan to Murray Saturday morning, between 10 and noon, let me know.
