I just went to check on the pipped eggs, to see if they had started to zip, well, there was a chick, from an egg that I didn't even know had pipped! It looks black.![]()
The other two have pretty good pips, so just the wait.
Come on Hattie, you should be letting us know that you have some pips by tonight right?
I wish that would happen to me sometime! Mine NEVER come early. I'm sure yours will all be hatched before mine ever even start. I'm happy your fun has begun.![]()
Yay!!! Sundance you are coming to St. George? Are you just driving trough or staying here for a few days? I would love to meet you if you have time. I need to remember what chicks you have hatched and are selling. I can only keep bantam size chickens but you have seramas right? How fun I'm so excited.I love meeting chicken friends.![]()
Moriah, where are you, again? It almost looks like a really weird bear print, but I would think they would sink in a lot further due to their weight. Whatever it was, it looks like it was kind of stepping around or moving around in that spot for a minute.
Just saw the question on the blue-est eggs---so far my bluest egg layers came from michelle (pawtraitart), they are more of a sky blue, pastel baby blue---and azriel's are blue but more of a turquoisey blue, some are really intense colored and very pretty. All my other ameraucanas so far lay more greenish than blue, it is disappointing so I would not recommend those.! I have some that will be getting new homes this spring due to their egg color being not what I was after. The leghorn/EE I have came from Moriahquilts...not sure if she bought hatching eggs or they are her birds...it is more greenish too...but I really like that hen because she lays so many and they are so big![]()
