I'm looking forward to getting home tonight, but at the same time I'm not looking forward to it. Last night I checked the birds that I have in the garage, and three out of five Icelandics have bugs

So, they're all getting a lovely oil sponge bath when I'm home. I had the creepy crawlies so bad last night after I checked them and found mites (I think they're mites, anyway) Ewwwwwww!

Moriah, you're making me excited about Leghorn/EE mixes! I still have one of my black Ameraucana cockerels (

) and an Exchequer Leghorn. I think I may just have to cross them at some point and see what I get, hee hee!

Hattie, Cynthia, how are your hatches going?

I have 4 blue chicks! And one black! They all hatched that went into lock down. One is still doing the paddle walk, so will get pictures when they are all up and about better. I have a favorite already. It's a real light silvery blue. The one that is still doing the paddle walk, has a single comb. All of the others have the pea comb. But the one with the single comb, looks to have puffy cheeks. Oh dear, now to decide on the two out of this hatch to keep..they have to look like girls. I think the silvery one already does.

Here's my favorite girl She doesn't have as much fuzzy on her legs as the others, but
look at that face, and you can't tell the color here, but she is pretty.

There she is in the middle. I also like the paddle walker up front, she has a comb. And
puffy cheeks.

Here is my favorite again..a little bit of feathering on her legs. The others have a lot. Oh well,
if this isn't a girl, I hope there is one in the 5!

Hattie, what do you run your temps at..are they small eggs? Can't remember sorry. Maybe it's because of our different areas we live in? I don't know.

They eventually hatch though, right? Even a day later? Good luck!

Lisa, you know I am soo hoping that is a girl. The light silver coloring just doesn't show up in these pictures. I have one more that shows it, but the lighting is brighter, but still, shows how much different she is than the other blues.

And, I'm seeing puffy cheeks on three of them now. The one with the yellow has them,
she hatched first.
