Utah!

RED..your olive eggs are so dark, I can't see in them at all. They are such a pretty color!
I didn't keep the one that was questionable, because when I looked at it closer before putting it n, it had a sticky yellow spot. So, not a good thing to try and hatch. I opened it, and it was fertile. :) And, the other three blue and blue/green, are fertile. Nice big bullseyes in them when I candle at 3 today. I will have to wait until day 7 to see movement and see how the air cells look in the others. Man, I am so serious when I say, that the color of your olive eggs are the very color I've been wanting. The others are nice, some not so nice, but these are the olive color I've been wanting. Thank you so much. I have a feeling, if the blue/green ones are fertile, so are the olive eggs..your boys are doing everything right.

I took a peek at a few of my incubating eggs and I have never seen such bad air cells

I just have to wonder if the post office did juggling tricks with them?
I know when I candle them all in a few more days that a BUNCH are going in the trash, I already saw that only 1 of the 4 polish has begun to develop

I've been waiting to hear and see how they looked, so thank you

I know that I saw one of the Icelandic boys doing his thing with the buff about two weeks ago, so that's why I figured that her eggs would be fertile. Ooooh so excited now.

I'm glad that you like the color of those, yays! When I first started finding them, I thought that they were light for an olive egg. I've never seen other olive eggs, except for in pictures. And we all know what cameras do to the color of things

Well I had a bit of a scare when I got home from work. I had changed out of work clothes and was just getting my boots on by the back door when I heard a ruckus out in the run. It sounded like one or two of the chickens were screaming like someone was hurt, and man was it LOUD! I ran out there to see what was wrong and saw my blue Ameraucana leaving the run and hurrying toward me. She looked fine and quieted down when she saw me, so I checked the run and found two of my other girls staring at me like, "Don't look at us. We don't know what that was about, either!"

Well, I checked the coop. There was a nice, warm blue-green egg sitting in the corner

Silly girl. And I thought my mom's BSL had a funny egg song. By the way the Ameraucana was going off, you'd have thought she was being murdered.

Wowzers! Bunch of silly girls! Now that she knows she can get you running to see her egg, she might try That trick again!

All 5 bantams laid an egg today! 4 silkies and 1 ee. Nobody is broody.

Going to start breeding Cynthia's Cotton to our Ratchet in a couple weeks. I cant wait to see the little chicks from these two puff balls. I think i will get a incubator just in case nobody is broody at the time.

Good idea on the back up brooder, sounds like you could get some pretty chicks out of those two, if the other one is as puffy as Cotton. :)

Red, candled again tonight since it is more the 24 hr mark, and it's dark, out of the three blue/greens, two are fertile for sure. Not sure about the blue. And two of the greens are fertile for sure, and will have to wait on the other two just to make sure, but one green looks pretty clear. Candling at night in a dark room, much better in the day...ya think? lol.. Anyway, I hope I do things right now and get them to hatch!

CUTE chicks Cynthia!! And how fun is that that you are hatching some of Red's eggs??

Lisa, that's great news about Bella!! Glad she is laying well, pretty sure the new green eggs at my mom;s ( a few weeks ago) were from Bella's sisters, haha...

Did I mention I put about 20 eggs in the bator from my eggs?? A few of them were the Marans, woohoo!! I'll candle on Sunday, probably...

Yay!! Maybe spring IS coming=)
